See my later post. If you watch film of Ted Williams over a season, you’ll find ways to “criticize” his approach.

Again, baseball is hard. All but the most elite players fail 65% of the time. Sometimes you see a good pitch and miss it or roll over on it.

That’s baseball. Critiquing those kinds of failures makes for a long, long season.

That’s actually the complete opposite of what I’m say...of what the point is. And that is that it was a questionable decision...something all players can control. Nowhere anywhere was my point that it was a poor swing or failure to get a hit. It was a questionable decision before he rolled over on the swing, and it would have been a questionable decision if he had hit the ball 500 feet.

No game thread yet?

Two teams will face off. Likely only one of them will win.

Discuss.

For what it's worth, I like your minimalist approach.

I thought everything you read on the internet is true.

What is truth?

That was really well played off the limestone facing. Somebody's done that before.

Would have been nice if someone had been manning 2B as if they had done it before.

Awww, crap.

Dick jinxed it with his comment to open the inning, about how Gibby has looked good tonight.

I think Vegas needs to open a betting line, like an over/under on the inning when Mr. Nibbles shows up.

C'mon, Gibby, hold it together....

24 ounce glass? If so, impressive!

Only for Friday night games. A certain level of sobriety must be maintained during the work week!

Again, if you break down 550+ PAs a season that way, you’ll be disappointed. This is a game of failure.

See pitch, hit pitch. What happens if Max takes a good pitch and then dives out on a worse pitch to fall back 0-2 in the count? He missed his pitch to conform to a predisposed idea of what the plate appearance should be, not what it is.

See your pitch, hit your pitch. It’s literally all we can ask for in a game this hard.
