Add those 2/2 inherited runs to the other days 3/3 (april 5) for Harper.......  at least he looked good last night... and he gave all the bad stats to Gibson and Odorizzi, so he still looks good... unless you think about what relief really is.....

Again, if you break down 550+ PAs a season that way, you’ll be disappointed. This is a game of failure.

See pitch, hit pitch. What happens if Max takes a good pitch and then dives out on a worse pitch to fall back 0-2 in the count? He missed his pitch to conform to a predisposed idea of what the plate appearance should be, not what it is.

See your pitch, hit your pitch. It’s literally all we can ask for in a game this hard.

What happens is Buxton is on second base (high probability), and Kepler can get an RBI with a weakly-hit single or a ball threw the 3rd-baseman’s legs...and he doesn’t hit into a double play. If see your pitch, hit your pitch is how you look at every pitch in every at-bat in a game and season, we won’t agree on this, my friend.

I love limoncello. Unfortunately I then learned how to make it. No wonder it tastes so good, it's like 97% sugar.

 

Still drink it though...

Our bullpen is so bad, we have a guy who's only job it is to clean up the inning when the bases eventually get loaded!

 

There's obviously some hyperbole here, but this shouldn't be happening so often.

Yeah, the Twins seem to know how to get the first two outs but that last out seems to escape them.

Reminds me of a story which has nothing to do with the game, so is perfect for a game thread. My wife and I had tea with a prim and proper Cypriot lady in Limassol one afternoon. We set up in her courtyard, which was full of lemon trees, to the point where they were littering the ground. She mentioned she had more than she knew what to do with, and my very Minnesotan wife immediately suggested making lemon bars. Being the supportive (read: loves lemon bars) husband that I am, I enthusiastically agreed.

 

I looked up that recipe too after we left, and it begins something like this: "squeeze half a lemon into four cups of sugar..."

I don’t know much about analytics and all that fancy pants baseball stuff, but I feel like the pitching is going to need to be about 300% better if we are to contend.
