h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 Add those 2/2 inherited runs to the other days 3/3 (april 5) for Harper....... at least he looked good last night... and he gave all the bad stats to Gibson and Odorizzi, so he still looks good... unless you think about what relief really is.....

jkcarew Verified Member Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 Again, if you break down 550+ PAs a season that way, you’ll be disappointed. This is a game of failure. See pitch, hit pitch. What happens if Max takes a good pitch and then dives out on a worse pitch to fall back 0-2 in the count? He missed his pitch to conform to a predisposed idea of what the plate appearance should be, not what it is. See your pitch, hit your pitch. It’s literally all we can ask for in a game this hard. What happens is Buxton is on second base (high probability), and Kepler can get an RBI with a weakly-hit single or a ball threw the 3rd-baseman’s legs...and he doesn’t hit into a double play. If see your pitch, hit your pitch is how you look at every pitch in every at-bat in a game and season, we won’t agree on this, my friend.

Of course I grew up in Freeport, Minnesota, the nicest town in the midwest, so YRMV.

I love limoncello. Unfortunately I then learned how to make it. No wonder it tastes so good, it's like 97% sugar. Still drink it though...

Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 Walked to the Mexican place to get dinner..... While I am waiting, I opened gamecast. It was jarring to see the English version after watching in Spanish earlier.

Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 I’ve never seen infield shifting backfire so spectacularly, as it has in this inning also... season is not over!
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 Our bullpen is so bad, we have a guy who's only job it is to clean up the inning when the bases eventually get loaded! There's obviously some hyperbole here, but this shouldn't be happening so often.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 Our bullpen wouldn't be so used IF THEY WOULD JUST GET OUTS WHEN THEY COME IN THE GAME!
operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 Great to see May pick up where he left off Sunday!
Joe A. Preusser Verified Member Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 Charlie's Cafe! Try the weinerschnitzel. I worked at Charlie's washing dishes and cooking breakfast about 22 years ago. True story.
David HK Verified Member Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 Oh, for Heaven's* sake. (*not the "sake" I intended to type) Isn't there one guy out there who can get through an inning? A serious OMG moment, when Castro set up for that 3-2 with the glove straight down the middle- and then May missed way way way inside...

70charger Verified Member Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 Interesting...mine is only 3% sugar...am I doing it wrong? Depends. Do you like lemons? Reminds me of a story which has nothing to do with the game, so is perfect for a game thread. My wife and I had tea with a prim and proper Cypriot lady in Limassol one afternoon. We set up in her courtyard, which was full of lemon trees, to the point where they were littering the ground. She mentioned she had more than she knew what to do with, and my very Minnesotan wife immediately suggested making lemon bars. Being the supportive (read: loves lemon bars) husband that I am, I enthusiastically agreed. I looked up that recipe too after we left, and it begins something like this: "squeeze half a lemon into four cups of sugar..."
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 I don’t know much about analytics and all that fancy pants baseball stuff, but I feel like the pitching is going to need to be about 300% better if we are to contend.
