Does anyone remember when KQRS used to play light happy music whenever the Twins were in first place back in the 80's?  I feel like playing some right now.

Fantastic game!

What did they play from 1980-1986?

[MMMordabito]

Congrats, Rocco! Go Twins!

It's a small sample, but Marwin Gonzalez has destroyed Kluber over his career. He's 10-for-22 with two home runs and a .455/.520/.733 batting line.

Now a slightly larger sample.

Man, the Tribe are lucky to have not lost Ramirez (my fantasy team too). That lineup does not look good on paper after him. They need Lindor back in the worst way.

I don't wish injuries on anyone, but I hope Lindor misses at least 19 games this year.

It certainly looks weird, but I wouldn't say worse. I do really wish they would have added a better OBP guy among all these new faces. Gonna be a lot of boom or bust.

The optimist in me says they don't need to do that because Buxton.

I'm in Seattle, so the only time I see the TV broadcast is when it's the Free Game of the Day.  In the past, every game has been so designated on opening day, but not this year.  Cheap-ass Manfred.

You could buy the MLB package, you know.

[yarnivek1972]

too bad. I was hoping tradition and myth were dead to this team now, and analytics were more important. Though maybe they REALLY believe Castro>>>>>>>>>any other option on defense.....

That is the conclusion I would make.

Cy Berrios!!!

We don't know how all the games went today but as of now he has to be the front-runner.

[DocBauer]

At work so couldn't follow any of the thread and could only watch parts of the game. But man, seriously, that has to be one of the best performances of Berrios' s young career!

Every Twin has swung at first pitch except Cruz.  Must be in the game plan.

Batters eye looks much much better and an over all major improvement to the park (much to Cuddy's chagrin), but the advertising there is obnoxious.  At least in hockey it's not constantly there because the puck moves.  Now we get to see it over multiple at bats and it really sticks out (on TV)

Just seems like a new place they can put a digital advertisement on during the game

The solution is to attend all the games in person so you don't have to look at the digitally-added ads.

22 pitches.

That would be one inning for Odorizzi. Kluber could go 12 today...

Channeling Harvey Haddix.

[Nine of twelve]

Buxton on the exit velo leader board for today.

Velo of the batted ball or velo of the batter-runner? And, as always, the answer is yes.

[Nine of twelve]

I get taking him out as it's the first start of the season and he wouldn't have gone back out for the 9th but I'd love to see him get the chance to finish off the 8th.

I bet he'd have stayed in for one more batter if the lead had been larger.

[Nine of twelve]

I thought pitchers had to face three batters or does that start next season?

It starts never. Or at least it had better be that way.

[Nine of twelve]

Nailed it!

[mickeymental]

buxton on a pace for 162 doubles.

[USAFChief]

Winnah!

[IndianaTwin]

Anybody on here at the game???

Is it too late to say, “I am”?

I'm a little late but Nice win by the Twins today. Obviously just one game but what a first game it was. It was nice taking there ace down. The only thing that's bugging me is the days off between games. Why in the heck do they set it up that way? The last thing they need is a day off right after a big win. This happened last year. Big win and a day off. Big Buzz Kill for players and fans.
