ashbury Verified Member Posted November 15, 2018 Posted November 15, 2018 You guys! There are more rumors about TC Bear than free agency news! Unavailable was the San Diego Chicken, probably due to his on-field duties. Here he is at the AFL Fall Stars Game on November 3, coaching first base. He signed autographs after the game, but they're probably not worth anything because they are just chicken scratchings.
DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted November 15, 2018 Posted November 15, 2018 You want analytics? I got one for you. I'll bet 99% of all ML ballplayers had a teddy bear in their youth. What percentage of FA targets out there have kids? And besides, aren't all men just grown up boys? Our mascot IS a teddy bear! TC should be sitting in on all contract negotiations and the family should be invited along. The final argument made by the FO should be something like: "Do you really want to sign with a team represted by a "thing", a chicken, a dinasour, a squawking bird, or by a giant teddy bear? What would your kids think?"

How would Paddington look in a Twins uniform? Not very big, so endurance may be an issue. But if we only need him to open, he could be a good fit.

We must have won! That's the only time i ever get to look at chicken pictures on twins daily...

Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted November 15, 2018 Posted November 15, 2018 Today I vacuumed up some spider webs in the apartment. That was more exciting than a MLB off season, apparently.
TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted November 15, 2018 Posted November 15, 2018 Today I vacuumed up some spider webs in the apartment. That was more exciting than a MLB off season, apparently. What kind of vacuum? And how many pages can we get out of arguing about your choice in vacuums?
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted November 15, 2018 Posted November 15, 2018 What kind of vacuum? And how many pages can we get out of arguing about your choice in vacuums? ha, I have no idea. Though, I guess now that I am buying a house next week, I will actually need it more often....at least upstairs.

PseudoSABR Verified Member Posted November 15, 2018 Posted November 15, 2018 Ok, I have this idea for a riding vacuum, but like a segway (basically a heafty roomba with a handle bar) . Should I quit my job now, or wait a few weeks?

There are more rumors about TC Bear than free agency news! https://twitter.com/OrbitAstros/status/1062387995377106945?s=19The fact that there is a convention for MLB mascots is disconcerting. That said it does open up some possibility for Joe's continued Twins employment. Hopefully his girls aren't afraid of bears? Butt really? So they send the people there? Or just send the costume and fill it with someone from the temp agency?

Blackjack Provisional Member Posted November 17, 2018 Posted November 17, 2018 Why is it in baseball we have to wait for weeks on end for anything to happen in free agency? In other sports like football and basketball top free agents sign within hours of free agency opening up.Take a page out of other major sports' playbooks baseball. We want HOT free agent news, and we want it now! This is Mn, you need to pick up some of the outdoor sports -- ice fishing, skating, skiing, etc. or you will go nuts.

And we tell the seasons two different ways. 1] Road construction and dead of winter. 2] Football season, followed by recruiting, spring football, summer: with reports about summer conditioning and 7 on 7 drills.

I’ve had a Dyson Ball for 8 years and it’s been very good on multiple surfaces and is great for vacuuming copious New Foundland dog fur.

Rosterman Verified Member Posted November 18, 2018 Posted November 18, 2018 The official beginning of the Hot Stove season is when the AFL-season ahs been completed, all rosters have been cleansed of players and reset with additions, and the Rule 5 happens as owners met for the Winter Meetings, this time the first week in December. You have some action then between the holidays with everything falling into place as January rolls around. We end the World Series, see what players declare free agency and celebrate the various awards like Rookie of the Year, Cy Young, MVP and Managers of the Year.
