Wast that ball to Kepler uncatchable or would a better route/setup have made it doable?

 

Max was one step away from making that catch but his angle took him into the padding and he got knocked off stride.  If he takes a clean route, he makes that catch.  But remember, this is the same guy who got eaten by the turf monster in Toronto on Wednesday.

You make the trade when the trade is available. If you sit on your hands in a "what if" situation to get a win when you're throwing the white flag, Arizona might just hang up and find someone else to deal with overnight.

You’re speculating (as am I). “White flag” or not, a 2 person bench is insufficient. Considering the manager didn’t even know about it, doesn’t sound like a well run machine, does it?

Dang, I was just trying to get here and type Oh Hell No not Belisle.

 

Too late!

 

Thing is, Belisle is okay against some teams, but for god's sake not against one of the best hitting teams in the league. That was a bad thing Molitor just did.

The manager isn't going to be notified until the deal is done and signed. The media leapfrogs those steps all the time and announces trades that are close to final but have yet to be finalized properly.

 

How do you think the media scoops all these stories without knowing what is coming back in return? They get enough info to be confident that something is going down but don't have the specifics because it hasn't actually happened yet.

 

And you don't keep your manager in the loop over negotiations. You let him know when the deal is done.
