And by "It" I of course mean control of the trade deadline, it's been pretty quiet overall, but the deadline is looming. Antony 100% without a doubt needs to trade the following players in the next couple days:

Suzuki

Nunez

One of: Nolasco, Santana, Milone

One of: Abad, Kintzler

Anything less is simply unacceptable.

Ghhhhheeeeettttt REAAADDDYYYY

Wish I had your enthusiasm about something happening soon. I'm losing faith with every passing day of inactivity.

Wish I had YOUR enthusiasm, sounds like you had faith at some point that something would happen :-)

One of?  All 5 of those should go before next season.

I did have some enthusiasm when RA took over. Figured he would want to prove to the league he's not just following in his predecessor's footsteps. Well, here we are, 4 days before the deadline.

My guess is Abad is gone.  That will be it.  We will get the requisite "we fielded a lot of calls, and made some offers, but they chose elsewhere..."  Similar to what we have heard in the past.

Somebody is angling for a nonrefundable boom-daddy to the chin.

Yeah four guys is what I am looking for as well.  I am starting to come around to the return doesn't matter that much crowd as in the end we might get nothing for those assets if we don't trade them.  Some of the guys on the 40 man right now are not gonna make it as we will have to add prospects to avoid rule 5.  Get what you can get for the guys that can be traded.  We need to go young and build a core anyway.

TD doesn't need this fiasco again...  :)

Shelby Miller is having a much worse season than I thought.  Wow.  Interesting buy low guy although I'm not sure Neil Allen is the guy to fix what ever is not working for him.

Neil Allen? Probably not.

Next pitching coach? Possibly!

Yup!

Creating two rotation spots for May and Berrios would be a huge win.

Ditto with creating a roster spot for Polanco.

Dunno if anybody could, maybe he's injured. His fastball velo is down 1.4 mph this season. He's very much in the Hughes/Duffey mold, that he's mainly a fastball/curveball pitcher without a viable 3rd pitch, so the affects of a decrease in velo is that much more magnified.

I don't know, everyone wants Anthony gone which seems like an indictment on his GM skills. Aren't we just going to hear a ton of complaining if Anthony moves these guys for a bunch of cash considerations or PTBNLs? Even if he snags an actual living breathing human, what if everyone collectively agrees it was a terrible trade?

I want space for Polanco, Berrios and Chargois but I think the likelyhood of what will appear to be a poor trade has to be acknowledged because for some reason there seems to be an expectation that the simple act of making numerous trades is going to satiate the collective appetite of Twins fans; why isn't there any trepidation that we will be eating rotten eggs?

Read a piece that the Royals might let Escobar walk or try to trade him and let Mondesi take over next year. Worth kicking the tires on?

I think the biggest problem with the inactivity is that anybody we have to trade is the last resort for contenders. Doesn't mean it won't happen but probably not until the 11th hour.

I would like to officially assume the role of 2016 Trade Buxton Bandwagon Leader. Please direct any questions and criticisms on the subject my way.

Alternatively, if you wish to join the bandwagon, I would certainly welcome the addition of some ambitious new cronies (but you gotta supply your own knobs).

Where are you trading him to? What are you we getting for him?  I'm pretty sure most Twins fan know the competent CF's don't grow on trees.

I wonder what a Buxton for Trea Turner deal might look like......how has Turner played in the OF so far?

I'm interested in seeing the Twins acquire Ivan Nova from the Yankees as a starting pitcher for Trevour Plouffe, Eduardo Nunez and John Ryan Murphy the AAA catcher.

I have always liked Nova the pitcher even though he is struggling this year. Might be to much to give up or not enough, but I would like to see the Twins pry Nova away from the Yankees.

Why are the Yankees doing that? They just traded Murphy to MN......Plouffe is hurt.....?

+1.

The Twins players cited are not only bit players, but there are better or equivalent but cheaper bit players available. We really should not expect to see any Twins players moved until Sunday. I place the over/under at 1.5 players moved.

Where's that "Unreasonable Trade Request" emoji?

Chargois won't be too hard to make room for, Berrios shouldn't either but we're talking about the Twins here, and Polanco enters into a jam as well. I think the fear or Antony handling trades is real, but I also think some of the players mentioned previously have to go in order for these 3 to see significant playing time, and I believe there is value in that as well. Its sad but given the handling of the younger players and the favoritism shown towards vets or higher salaries I don't feel confident in the Twins to give playing time to the players that need it, while the others are still in the picture. In essence its like taking a ratty blanket away from a child so they'll use the new, clean one.
