Here's an update: Arcia is 3 for 3 with a HR for the Rays...

Wait, the Twins say, you're allowed to play him again, the very next day after an o-fer?

Mauer, Escobar and Grossman shape up!

Next game's 7-8-9 in the lineup, where the punch-and-judies belong?

I like home runs, especially when they come from Twins bats.

Winnah!

All's well that ends well, I guess.

After a while, the sheer monotony of it does tend to wear the pitcher down.

I wonder whether Duffey's problems this year are a result of the Twins trying to get him to develop a changeup?

Posted

No.  Duffey's been overthrowing.

I just hope this marks the start of a good trend, as opposed to Gibson's constant teasing with Good Kyle followed by Bad Kyle. (Last year's Gibbie, I mean - this year there hasn't been much of the former.)

Chicken Dinnah! Today gives me a 5-1 game thread record this year. Not sure what the WAR would be...

We need you to volunteer for all the open threads in July.

Not sure what the WAR would be...

I don't know, but I can absolutely tell you what it's good for.

I'd need to hire a ghost writer like RB. The thread themes would dry out quickly.

But a third pitch can be something you throw just a few times a game, and maybe not even for a strike every time, and maybe the Twins are overemphasizing it's importance?

- which is not to say it's not important. But maybe it doesn't need to be "perfected"

I have done three plays by the master.  'Taming of the Shrew', as Lucentio. 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'  as Oberon, and the lead in 'The Scottish Play.'

What was the name of your character? Can you say it if it's the character's name and not the name of the play?

Honored to receive the first pick in the July rookie draft. However, mr. And Mrs. Dinger are getting hitched in July. Gonna fall off the radar a little bit.

Be sure to touch base with Chief for honeymoon pointers.

Not honeymoon pointers, but allow me to post a few marriage pointers.

1.) Marriage is all about compromising. Sometimes the husband meets the wife halfway, and sometimes the husband meets the wife 100% of the way.

2.) If your wife is having fun and you're not, you're still having way more fun than if you're having fun and your wife is not.

3.) Enjoy your wedding day. It's a special time and almost always is a lot of fun. But remember it's just one day out of your marriage. Think of it this way: your wedding is a word, but your marriage is a sentence.

It's Beetlejuice. You can say the play's name, and the lead role, but it's best to stop there.

He can say it all he wants on here ... Macbeth, Macbeth, Macbeth ... this isn't a theatre, even if some would claim all the world's a stage.

One signifying nothing.

Absolutely.  Unless you're Nolan Ryan or Randy Johnson, 3 quality pitches in the MLB is the mandatory minimum.

Duffey looked great yesterday; a little like the Greg Maddox-style of pitcher I think he can be.

Move the the fastball around the zone, change speeds, keep a good arm angle on the curve and drop in the change-up just to keep the batters thinking.

A thinking batter is a batter in trouble    ;)
