Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2016 Author Posted June 26, 2016 It's been a productive day so far. Writing a game thread while hung over, laundry all folded and put away, grocery shopping. And the chicken is being marinated for a potential chicken dinnah!
hybridbear Verified Member Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Wow! Duffey is back out there for the 8th! With a chance to pitch a shut out! Edit: never mind... Teixeira just hit a HR
AZTwin Verified Member Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 In case you missed it, oswaldo Arcia homered today as well
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Dick: "This has been Tyler Duffey's game." Boom. Now THAT is a jinx.
Comrade Bork Verified Member Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Just like when a stage actor/actress always calls a certain play 'The Scottish Play'. You don't call it by it's real name or all sorts of bad things happen :-)As a theater tech who was a part of a production of Macbeth,it was weeks until I realized everyone in theater (much like baseball) is a superstitious crazy person. I didn't even know it was a thing until I got chewed out. Then I went out of my way to say Macbeth Macbeth Macbeth!!!! Oh hey look. It doesn't matter if a couch surfer calls a no hitter in the 6th. Stupid

hybridbear Verified Member Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Hopefully the great performance today will help get Duffey on a roll. Hopefully the ASG break won't hinder him.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 He may have given up a HR, but then Duffey struck out the next three guys.... this is the Tyler Duffey from last season.

Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2016 Author Posted June 26, 2016 I'm sure Duffey is now thanking you for causing that hanging curve. At least he followed up with 3 straight strikeouts!
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2016 Author Posted June 26, 2016 Throw Duffey out in the 9th. Been a long time since we've seen a complete game...
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Masterful. That last strikeout... Keep the video of that for future generations. 1. 83mph change-up, lower edge.2. 90mph fastball, inside edge.3. Classic Duffey curve, shows just a hint of strike, then ducks down and left. Swinging strike 3. This is what I have always thought Tyler Duffey could be. No idea if he can be this good very often, but this is why I think he can be an excellent MLB pitcher.
dgwills Provisional Member Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Duffey's pretty mad about you guys jinxing him
HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Well, Dick, if Molitor actually told Duffey was done for the day, wouldn't there already be someone warming up?? Edit: well what the hell is it? Who's warming up in the bullpen??
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Esco-bear a bit late on that medium fastball. Not good...
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2016 Author Posted June 26, 2016 Come on Molly. No one wants to see Kintzler this game.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Here's an update: Arcia is 3 for 3 with a HR for the Rays...
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Here's an update: Arcia is 3 for 3 with a HR for the Rays...Hu?
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Is this the most satisfying game of the year so far? I can't remember a better one. Maybe the day Sano hit six home runs?
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Well, Dick, if Molitor actually told Duffey was done for the day, wouldn't there already be someone warming up?? Edit: well what the hell is it? Who's warming up in the bullpen??I thought I saw Kintzler down there throwing.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 I agree with Smalley. Great day for Juan Centeno. Capped it off with a tape-measure shot over the fence.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Mrs Chief and I just got back from the vacation of a lifetime. Never doing that again, I tell ya.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Here's an update: Arcia is 3 for 3 with a HR for the Rays...Oh, big surprise!
stringer bell Verified Member Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 OK, when is the last time this club has hit six homers in one game?
