Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 ANND Welcome back! To Minnesota Twins Whine Line – Game Thread Edition. Forget about our opening paragraph yesterday. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9hAiCukqnWwANND Welcome! To Minnesota Twins Whine Line – Game Thread Edition! I wish I knew what kind of spell the Yankees have on our favorite ball club over the last 13-14 years, but it’s continuing this season. Well guess what? The spell is ending TODAY! Let’s get some things out of the way like weather and lineups before the fun begins.... It’s going to be a beautiful day for a baseball game. 81 degrees and mostly sunny for the first pitch. Winds out of the NE at 6 MPH. Getting MORE WINDY as we go along. Real Feel of 89 degrees. Minnesota Twins (23-51)1. Eduardo Nunez ® 3B2. Robbie Grossman (S) LF3. Joe Mauer (L) DH4. Brian Dozier ® 2B5. Trevor Plouffe ® 1B6. Max Kepler (L) RF7. Eduardo Escobar (S) SS8. Juan Centeno (L) C9. Danny Santana (S) CFP- Tyler Duffey ® - Hoping for a bounce back outing after his 3 inning stint against the Phillies! New York Yankees (37-36) 1. Jacoby Ellsbury (L) CF2. Brett Gardner (L) LF3. Carlos Beltran (S) DH4. Brian McCann (L) C5. Mark Teixeira (S) 1B6. Starlin Castro ® 2B7. Didi Gregorius (L) SS8. Chase Headley (S) 3B9. Aaron Hicks (S) RF P- Nathan Eovaldi – Last start against the Twins: 5.1 IP, 6 H, 4 ER, 2 K in a LOSING effort! Now, let’s get to our favorite segment, the SCORCHING Hot Takes of the Day! Tons of Runs today? – The 2 pitchers on the mound today have not earned a quality start in the last month. Eovaldi’s earned himself a 9.00 ERA over his last 4 starts. For Duffey, it’s even longer; his last 7 starts have failed to produce a quality start. That should mean there’s going be some offense today, right?! We think so!Everything in 3’s – Yesterday’s loss for the Twins earned them a 3 game losing streak. This has happened 10 other times already for our favorite ball club as we approach July. Someone on this team must be obsessed with the number 3… Or maybe it’s a different number, like Jim Carrey in the film Number 23… 3 losses x 10 times = 30. Minus Joe Mauer’s number, and WHAT DO YOU HAVE?? http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-oqMDNQQNKQI/UQbtqEpntJI/AAAAAAAAADA/MXcYCcBXSMI/s1600/number23vm7.jpgHow to save this season: The intern and I have been going back and forth on how to salvage this season for the Twins. I believe the intern has a brilliant idea relating to his experience on MLB The Show. During times when the Twins are off to a bad start on his franchise, he “forgets” to save the progress, and start over. We think that’s BRILLIANT! In order to do this, we need to find Marty McFly and travel back to November 2015 in order to consult TR & the gang on who to sign and not to sign.Featured Food at Yankee Stadium: We have another early game which is requiring more brain power than I want to put in after a night out. This host needs some FUEL to keep going. What caught my eye for a 12:00 game is their Chicken and Waffles. A great combination of food that I’ve grown to love living in the south. http://cdn-jpg.thedailymeal.net/sites/default/files/styles/tdm_slideshow_large/public/images/chickenandwaffles.jpg?itok=i2ok3Ozl Enough of this losing, LET’S GET A WIN TWINS!
Jerr Verified Member Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Well, as it is so nice out here, I'm gonna be doing my ranch dressing/garlic/red pepper marinated over night chicken thighs on my grill, with a hot southern bar-b-que sauce, as they cook. Probably will have the radio on to the Twins game and will check this thread later. So, I expect some entertaining posts when I read it Awesome opening of the thread!!!!!

Kwak Verified Member Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 "Tons of Runs"--I notice both Park and Buxton have been replaced, so two automatic outs are removed from the line-up. Though Santana isn't nearly an automatic out himself. Oh well, is in for defensive purposes. Huh? NO!? Why him? NYY made some changes too. A-Rod out! I bet he's miffed missing an easy mark like Duffy. Or, maybe he is being saved for the one AB when Molitor shows how his managing skills have progressed to the point of bringing in a LH relief pitcher to face a NYY LH batter. Then A-Rod appears... hmm. Did Girardi forget that Perkins is recovering from surgery and isn't available? I'll stay tuned-in.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 All this talk of chicken Dinnah makes me sad...not a lot of those being served around here these days.

USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Shameless plug: there are lots of July gmes in need of volunteers for game thread duty. Take a look at the volunteer thread, pick out a game or three, and PM me. That's an order, meat!

KirbyDome89 Verified Member Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Good to see Santana back in CF. Molitor must've decided Buxton needed another day off after having Sunday and Monday off. We wouldn't want Buxton to get too many ABs....

Willihammer Provisional Member Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Man, watching these TIX broadcasts really illustrates the difference in market/media. Jirardi has a DAILY pre-game presser where reporters grill him about "why is the team only .500," "why did you send down Davis," "should you be buyers or sellers," etc.
Pardon My Dinger Verified Member Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 I'd like to nominate a rookie to do a thread or 6. Pardon My DingerHonored to receive the first pick in the July rookie draft. However, mr. And Mrs. Dinger are getting hitched in July. Gonna fall off the radar a little bit.
