Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 Phil Hughes. We'll all remember that one year you were good. Now please go away.
DiscGolfer Verified Member Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 Well, I think that's enough for me today, I'll be back if they start putting up a fight
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 Oh my. It's like the home run derby out there! So what is gonna be, a 7 game losing streak? Man, they're quickly approaching the length of that 9 game one!
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 We are going to lose over 110 games. Let that sink in to your skulls.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 http://cdn2.sbnation.com/imported_assets/1011193/348oawl_jpg.gif?_ga=1.58180586.1160860767.1442182297 This is still the gold standardThe ball off Canseco's head for a HR is at least silver, IMO.
PopRiveter Verified Member Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 Sooooooooo... disabled list? If he insists he's healthy, I'd willingly grab hold of an arm and twist.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 What an idiotic extension..........
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 I know this its controversial but I'm going to say it anyway. Velveeta Skillets don't hold a candle to Hamburger Helper. Hamburger Helper is the Gold Standard. Hamburger Helper flavors, ranked: - Stroganoff- Cheeseburger Macaroni- Lasagna - Cheesy Italian Shells- Walking into oncoming traffic- Crunchy Taco
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 Not-so-fun fact: Hughes is under contract longer than Mauer is. Gosh, the Hughes extension is looking just as bad as the Nolasco deal.
DiscGolfer Verified Member Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 We are going to lose over 110 games. Let that sink in to your skulls. It'll be closer to 120 than 110
Winston Smith Verified Member Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 I bet even Twins hitters could hit Hughes at this point. Well maybe not.
HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 Sooooooooo... disabled list? If he insists he's healthy, I'd willingly grab hold of an arm and twist. That is kind of the MO for this team. A couple more starts for Nolasco and he'll be on DL.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 Also a Not-so-fun fact: If Hughes was not extended, this would be the final year on his contract. Oh boy! 3 more years!
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 Not-so-fun fact: Hughes is under contract longer than Mauer is. Gosh, the Hughes extension is looking just as bad as the Nolasco deal. Plus there was NO REASON to do it. None. Nada. Nil. Zippo.
ShouldaCouldaWoulda Verified Member Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 Hughes, Nolasco, Gibson, or Milone. I will never ever get excited about this team with more than one of these guys in the rotation, and none should be starting on "good team." They are going to have some good game here and there, and sometimes string a few together, but at the end of the day they are just blah. I like Santana and think he was a legit signing though. Nolasco is pitching better this year, but is still just bad. I can't get excited about any games these guys are pitching.
SirLoin Verified Member Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 At least now it's probably safe to put Jepsen in....
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 Plus there was NO REASON to do it. None. Nada. Nil. Zippo. Hey, that's not fair! He had just come off a phenomenal season where he set the all-time k/bb ratio. Players don't just have career years and then regress back to what they've always been.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 Better use of $58M: Extend Phil Hughes? or Incredible weekend in Vegas, and I mean IN-F'ing-CREDIBLE weekend? Discuss.
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 Ummm, down 5-1 and leading off, and Trevor Plouffe is showing bunt. Is he f'ing kidding?
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 Hey, that's not fair! He had just come off a phenomenal season where he set the all-time k/bb ratio. Players don't just have career years and then regress back to what they've always been.To be fair, they had to make that decision incredibly fast, like within 2 years.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 Better use of $58M: Extend Phil Hughes? or Incredible weekend in Vegas, and I mean IN-F'ing-CREDIBLE weekend? Discuss. What exactly could $58 million buy in Vegas? Is anyone here Floyd Mayweather to give us the insight?
Rigby Verified Member Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 I bet even Twins hitters could hit Hughes at this point. Well maybe not.Howard or Langston?
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 What exactly could $58 million buy in Vegas? Is anyone here Floyd Mayweather to give us the insight? You don't need Mayweather at all. It would buy you 5.8 billion spins on a penny slot machine.
HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 Whew, the Smalley Dick excuses are done. Man, that was lame.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 What exactly could $58 million buy in Vegas? Is anyone here Floyd Mayweather to give us the insight?Interesting question. Myself, I've never spent even half that.
