Game Thread, Twins @ Tigers, 4/9 @ 12:08pm CT

[gocgo]

Yesterday, I optimistically predicted that the Twins would leave Detroit being outscored 19-2...turns out, I was being optimistic.  21-0 and counting.

[jorgenswest]

Twins have been looking for outfield help. Tigers too. They found Gose and Martinez. The Twns have found Kubel, Bartlett, Robinson, Schafer and Hunter.

Don't forget Cepsedus.

This is a nice looking club we have here, isn't it.

[Willihammer]

Welp, I have to go to work. Thank you rain delay!

[Halsey Hall]

I'm looking forward to Pelfrey starting!

[Boom Boom]

I don't understand that pitch selection. After Martinez waved at a slider, with a 1-2 count, Zuke calls for a fastball... seems to me you go with the slider again...

[Hrbowski]

I just heard someone say, "It takes a lot of stamina to say 'Go Twins.'" True Story.

[gocgo]

The question is, at what point does it become so embarrassing that the media and the public turns on the front office?  I realize that many have already turned on the front office, but why would you want to purchase tickets after watching this?  If you have tickets, how would you even get rid of them?  Who is going to pay full price to watch this team?

[FattCrapps]

Cy Greene.

[NorthwestTwinsFan]

Could the Twins beat their own AA team? I think that would be good matchup.

[KirbyHawk75]

How in the hell doesn't Escobar not play everyday in this lineup?

[Hrbowski]

Twins continue to shoot themselves in the foot.

Don't worry, the FO has a plan......

[teekz]

On a plus side, Ploffe has looked pretty good defensively this year!

[TheLeviathan]

To those who continue to downplay our disaster of a CF situation, I present.....

Anthony Gose.

Please, let's never say again that there were "no options" out there.  Let's bury that meme where it belongs.

Where is the LOVE button?

[Shane Wahl]

At least The Youth Movement would have scored some runs and prevented some of these. This is ugly and terrible. It looks like this team is *completely* unprepared to play baseball.

[jorgenswest]

This roster was constructed to try to give the illusion of a competitive team. They were counting on mediocre veterans.

Molitor has got to go to Ryan and demand some young players with hunger to improve. I don't care if it means more losses. There are too many guys on this team that give no hope for the future.

[teekz]

Seriously? That was our first K?

[Hrbowski]

Don't worry, the FO has a plan......

And soon they will execute it, and then they will execute us!

[Danchat]

Don't worry, the FO has a plan......

They're all getting fired if this continues. I'm not on the "Fire Terry Ryan" bandwagon, but there will be new plans if this futility ensues.

[SydneyTwinsFan]

Joining the thread late, but man this has been beyond brutal to watch.

[nicksaviking]

So two strike outs from six pitchers combind over the last 14 innings?

Twins Pythag Projection

0-162

Unfortunately teams with bad bullpens often underperform their projections.
