USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Unless there's a medical or similar reason, I too would not sit Arcia against a RHer.
teekz Verified Member Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Who would you sit for Escobar to get ABs?
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted April 9, 2015 Author Posted April 9, 2015 They should just go ahead and move this game back about 5 hours. Any news? Looking at the radar, um, i think the heaviest locally is on top of 'em now. But something heavier is perhaps an hour and a half away? Hard to judge sometimes. But if they made it a night game (less likely, being a travel day) i'd kick myself for not including the following youtube snippet. In part so i get used to dealing with media as a communication skillset (like going the other way with outside pitches? but that's a stretch) but mainly just 'cause i like the actor what played the father in that 70s show. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5hWXDuZXMAo Did it work?

sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted April 9, 2015 Author Posted April 9, 2015 Shoot. Game's about to begin, but i got me an errand i've been putting off, and while perhaps i can put it off a bit longer, i shouldn't. I'll chime in as i can. And i trust Escobar will do fine. We're keeping the other team off balance. That's it.

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 RAIN DELAY -- How much time for lunch do they think I have!!!
David HK Verified Member Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Who would you sit for Escobar to get ABs?Plouffe! Please!
Shane Wahl Verified Member Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Is LF the only OF position that Escobar is able to play? Sitting Hunter today wouldn't have been terrible, but I probably wouldn't be moving Arcia around the damn OF, so I don't know what to do there. If I want Escobar in the lineup today, I probably give Plouffe a day off, give Arcia a day off against the next lefty, and then spell Santana and Dozier soon too.
Whammy Verified Member Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Good news about this rain delay is that the Twins offense hasn't been affected at all. They are scoring runs at the exact same pace as they have the rest of the season. The Tigers offense, on the other hand, has really taken it on the chin.

Mr. Wahl, your avatar is terrific. Who is that man with the incredible 'stache?
Hrbowski Verified Member Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Maybe Shane Greene will give up a run today.
Kirby_waved_at_me Verified Member Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Any word on the expected length of the delay? Are they playing the game today, or will it be postponed?
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Clearly mother nature is a baseball fan, and is also waiting for Buxton, Sano, Burdi and others to be up. this should be re-scheduled for early June......
stringer bell Verified Member Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 With no information at hand, I will guess they will play. They would have postponed this game early because it is a getaway day, plus there won't be much walkup sales and there probably wasn't a lot of tickets sold for the game in the first place. Of course, I could be completely wrong.
Halsey Hall Verified Member Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Gibson has held the Tigers hitless for 2 hours now!
DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Actually it can... We could lose 12-0 today. BUT THAT WON"T HAPPEN... I'm personally guaranteeing that we won't lose 12-0 today. So MLB has gone ahead and adopted the 10 run rule?
LimestoneBaggy Verified Member Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Homer- Whoo-hoo! A dishonorable discharge rain delay. That's the best we could have hoped for.

And the rest of the games in between? I'm all for pausing the season and having three straight weeks of triple-headers once they're called up.

ashbury Verified Member Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Gibson has held the Tigers hitless for 2 hours now!Unfortunately his SO/HR ratio (that's per hour, not per home run) remains at zero.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 See, they really only need 4 starters right now.....that's the message from mother nature, since Nick is right, she's not going to cause a reschedule of 60 games......
mikeee Provisional Member Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Bet it's another half hour. I peeked at weather.com in the detroit area. Ooo.. There may havebeen some freezing rain in there too..
