...They’re getting rid of the pinstripes on the home uniforms. They will keep pinstripes on those sweet home alternate throwbacks they wear. They will add a gold drop shadow to the “Twins” lettering...

 

Apparently being unveiled next week.

 

I like it. It's time for the team and fans to look forward and changing up the uniforms is a small but nice touch. Pinstripes are too associated with the Yankees anyway *spit*

Can we please get rid of the ugly Twins logo on the current pinstripes as well?  I've never liked the lower case "m" on the hat either.  Welcome change.  From the description, I wonder if they are going with something like:

I personally wouldn't have minded them going with the throwbacks from the 60's/early 70's permanently.  I've always liked them.

They should rid themselves of the throwbacks off whites with the blue lettering Saturday home Jersey's uniform anyways. They are about as useless as the armless Jersey's they tried one year. Ever since they started wearing those things in honor of #3 after 2010 the team went down hill. People talk about the trees removal curse, I think think the wretched off white cream colored throwbacks are more of a curse.

They lose more games than they win playing in those stinking uniforms anyways. Time to bleep can them.

No way, the off white classic jersey is the best looking one they have.  I don't care about the pinstripes but they need to keep at least one classic version and all caps should have the TC logo.

 

The jersey I like best is the complete throwback flannel gray from the original Twins.  You can purchase a Killebrew replica that is awesome.  Of course these flannel jerseys were made of wool so that could be a problem.

Personally, white, gray or cream, I'd rather see a little less of the blue tops, saving them for an alternate, and sticking more with the one tone color scheme.

 

TC absolutely belongs on the hats, and somewhere on the sleeve or front of the jersey.

 

I also think it's time to bury past superstition and bring back the red tops as an alternate. A few months ago someone had a photo of a red mock-up that was very cool. Anyone recall who had that?

I'm on board, those are the first jersey's I remember watching them play in.  The Vikings proudly have rocked the purple for half a century, the Twins gave up way too early on the powder blue!  Though in fairness the product was pretty terrible when they wore those. 

 

Still, got to love the red, white and blue piping those babies had!  I think it must have been a law that everything that happened within five years of the bicentennial had to have an uber-patriotic angle.

The pinstriped home unis were the only ones I actually liked. It was a classic, clean look - I'm sorry to see them go. They can get rid of those horrid blue alternate tops while they're at it. I HATE those. The cream throwbacks aren't my favorite, but they're not the worst thing in the world either.

 

I'd be in favor of a complete uniform redesign - home, road, alternate - everything could use a refresh. Keep the colors and TC logo, but redo the look.

The re-introduction of the pinstripes with a button-front jersey and with a new logo/script on the chest and the M on the cap ushered in a new era of Twins baseball in 1987. No, the uniform didn't bring the World Series championship, but even as that year started with the new "look" on the field, it resulted in many fans, myself included, taking a fresh look at the product on the field and getting to better know the new generation of players.

 

Similarly, I would be all for seeing the Twins doing a complete re-design of their uniforms in the next year or so, as the next group of core players begins to arrive and, hopefully, pull the organization out of the abyss.

 

There's only one thing that makes me hesitate in support for such a total re-branding and that's the fact that I really dislike what they did with the road uniforms when they made that change a few years back. They left behind a distinctive pinstripe grey road uniform and adopted a cookie-cutter script road uniform virtually indistinguishable from many other teams' road uniforms. If that's what passes for distinctive and imaginative design, then I'd rather just stick with the current options, thanks.

I think a re-design might be a good idea, it's not that I want to forget the era from 1987 to the present, just that I think it is time to look forward instead of backwards. I feel on some level Twins fans have been nostalgic for 1991 ever since 1992.

 

Instead of Minny and Paul shaking hands it can be Vargas and Sano! The Tater Tot Twins!

I like this toned down red, not the bright one from the 90's.  I've always wanted an alternative with a "TC" on the chest.  This wouldn't be bad with a big TC instead of the Twins script.  Put Minny and Paul on the sleeve where the TC is.  Also hide the Nike swish on the other sleeve, although I think official jerseys are made by Majestic.  I wouldn't even ask for a percentage if they used these ideas, well maybe 50 cents a jersey.
