I don't know how good of a fielder Ross is, so perhaps I'm off, but my comments were made based on how the Twins used him - seems like they don't believe in him as a prospect. Fangraphs does have him as a top 30 prospect (#30) and a 55 fielder, so perhaps there is more upside there. Maybe they always planned to add him to the 40 man after the season was order to protect him from Rule 5, but I dunno... neither of these two are going to hit well enough to make an impact in the majors.

If they were to devote the rest of the season to systematic anti-platooning, to really "find out what we've got," I'd be a little bit impressed.

Right-handers in particular need to be able to hit righties at least tolerably, or they basically have no career.

Caratini was/is exactly who he's been, a slightly above average defensive catcher who has a streaky bat. He's performed at pretty much as expected.

He did let 25 of 26 runners steal from May thru July I believe it was.  So that is above average defense.

On one hand, a Twins fan could almost get excited about a Twins starting rotation next year led by Joe Ryan and Pablo Lopez, with Bradley, Abel, Prielipp, Zebby and Ober backing them up.  That's 7 deep and you could throw Dean Kremer in there for #8.  

But you could also make a very compelling case for thinking "enough with the same old same old failures.  It's time to blow this team up and re-tool."  I can see hanging onto Pablo at least until the trade deadline in the hope we're contending and he's rebuilt his value.  I'm not so sure I would hang onto Joe Ryan if I can get a good package back this off season.  

I also think Bailey Ober has rebuilt a certain degree of value back.  I'd rather go with all the young guys and Lopez and Kremer as the stabilizing vets.  It will be interesting to see what they could get for Ober should a pitching depth needy team come calling.  

E-Rod needs to play every day along with Jenkins and Keaschall in the OF.  Larnach can pinch hit.  The fact Larnach wasn't traded this off season or at the deadline is a prime example of why this FO needs to be replaced.  Same with Jeffers.  We were NOT a contender.  Jeffers could have brought something pretty good back.  Wallner has no future with the Twins either.  Package him in a deal and get some other team's "Never Was" guy as a lottery ticket back.  

I couldn't agree more about ZOLL!  PULLLEEEZZZE, Mr. Pohlad, give us some hope!

As far as Ryan goes, I'd make him an offer to stay with the Twins for 3-4 more years.  He can be an anchor with the team.  Sorry that we missed out on Pablo this year, but I love him on the team...maybe we can extend him another couple of years.  Ober...geez, I dunno...I am pretty sure i would trade him for a prospect.  

Agree with Jeffers and Larnach.  That they are still on the team is just management malfeasance.  We have not been a contender since at least August.  Zoll really messed up with Jeffers--because now he is forced to give him the QO just to cover up his idiotic non-trade.  Even if we had gone on a heater and made the playoffs, how much more money would the team have made (could have made the same bucs by dropping Jeffers salary!).   People are just not showing up at the stadium until they start making smart moves!

Well....nice start to his career with the Twins!  A HR on his first AB!  Really!  

First to do so since Eddie Rosario.

And a great throw from CF to nail a runner at 3B!  Other than Buxton, I don't think anyone else makes that out on the team.  

You know, when I watch Emma running around the bases, he kinda reminds me a bit of Puckett--he's got that big smile and that seemingly pudgy body.  There is a lot to like with Emma...hope he never goes back to AAA.  

End of the road for Wallner, Kriedler.  Maybe even Martin?

Roster management, at least on the fringes, has been an issue for several seasons.  With the awkward timing of Falvey's departure, I was willing to give Zoll the benefit of the doubt, even on matters like the OutMan.  But this slapstick comedy involving Jackson is entirely a self-own by the GM and I just don't understand it.

Jackson in AAA, ready on a moment's notice if an injury occurs to a catcher, and we could have any of the other 40-man guys up for a look-see these final weeks.

yeah, watch....they will sign a catcher over the winter (either Jeffers or another MLB C) and we would have wasted a roster spot on Jackson all season.  Just idiotic.  Zoll, cleanup in aisle 13, asap!  Please leave the Twins!
