Again no Martin, he has earned a shot at being an every day player.  Yes he may be a placeholder for ERod and Jenkins but he should be the leadoff hitter and not Clemens.  Why did they sign Bell if he isn't playing 1B, Clemens is not an every day player.  This obsession with the handedness of hitters and pitchers has to balanced out.

Of course I'm being ironic - it's a game thread

Oh, so throw this in after the fact so I look like a pedantic a**hole 🙄

Shortround, you're fine.

I thought it was spelled Maudy Thursday.

Per Matthew Leach:

Brooks Lee is ill. He’s available but not starting. Improved from yesterday.

Explains two consecutive non-starts.

MSN weather shows rain heading for the Twin Cities but , if the forecast is close to right, will end around  3 P.M.

Same map shows it is supposed to be snowing St.Cloud area right now but is not at this time.

It's chilly outside but at least the sun is out for now... Hope the meteorologists are wrong for the people attending.

Whelp it doesn’t appear they were wrong this time. Raining outside now

Twins Home Opener (:

image.png.7114e4c351671804668fcfea39dc3eb6.png

For the Minnesota Twins home opener on Friday, April 3, 2026, expect cold and wet conditions at Target Field, with temperatures around 40°F, feels-like temperatures in the 30s, and a high chance of rain. East winds at 5-10 mph will add to the chill. Rain is expected, and it may be uncomfortable, so warm, waterproof gear is recommended. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Game Day Forecast (April 3, 2026):
  • Temperature: Low 40s°F (approx. \(4^{\circ}C\) to \(5^{\circ}C\)).
  • Conditions: Rain likely, overcast, and cold.
  • Wind: NE 5-10 mph.
  • Recommendation: Bundle up, consider gloves and a scarf. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

Looks like it's gonna be like the Saints game I went to on Tuesday. That was the coldest baseball game I have ever been to in my life. Just brutally cold with high winds. Good luck, everyone...

Full disclosure, I thought it was implied that I was showing 5-year-old me’s thoughts, and it might not have been as clear as it was in my head

Ain't that always the way it...
