thelanges5 Verified Member Posted August 3, 2025 Posted August 3, 2025 Must be somewhat of a bullpen game. Ureña never pitched more than 4 innings for the Saints. Adams piggyback?
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2025 Posted August 3, 2025 I guess there is really no accountability anymore. Julien still starts after dogging it in the 9th inning yesterday. 3 mental mistakes in 2 games Eris and I Miss The Lakes 2
ziggy Verified Member Posted August 3, 2025 Posted August 3, 2025 I don't get it. If Sabato's numbers are not good enough for a call up what do you do with him this winter when he has to be added to the 40 man roster or exposed to waivers for $100,000? Play him over Clemons who is a waiver wire level player. If you're going into the 'next phase' of building a championship team(cough cough) get on with it. The Twins will be underdogs in 75% of the games the rest of this year. PLay the young guys who might bring some enthusiasm to the field. Friday and Saturdays games were the same old same old, the Twins were out hustled by a large margin, out played and continued to ignore situational hitting. I'm starting to think the slugging percentage numbers and micro stat numbers on exit velocities and angle and blah blah blah do not encourage 'little ball skills' which is why the Twins manager and players ignore working on them. Before Bloody Thursday I posted that the Twins were lolligagers and nothing has changed since then from some of the players. Players that at least hustle and give 100% become fan favorites and right now I do not see any on the roster looking like they will be the next fan favorite. The players have all the enthusiasm of two loggers cutting down a tree. IndyTwinsFan 1

This team is very LH with all the deadline deals. You would think they would try to balance it out but Falvey is the smartest man in baseball so who I am to question.

Great tussle going on. I'm actually surprised that Julien hasn't been more focused and all out in his play. It would seem like his professional baseball career is on the line and yet ..... we see what we see. Eddie would have a hard time in Senior Men's Baseball. The pitchers never throw the ball anywhere except the edges of the plate and it is a full 7 pitch arsenal of junk with 5% 85 mph FB, which Julien takes. Oh boy. Maybe he busts out starting today. Right? Vanimal46 1

Right? I heard Julien’s quote on Dan Barreiro’s show this morning. Paraphrasing but it hits these 3 points… Julien said him not running on contact is a tough look. The coaching staff has reminded him about this more than once, including last year. But he just enjoys admiring his hits. We’re gonna be at a disadvantage talent wise for 90% of the remaining games. What shouldn’t be tolerated is lazy effort. But we don’t have a backbone in this organization to bench people for lackadaisical effort. Patzky, Peter, IndyTwinsFan and 1 other 4
thelanges5 Verified Member Posted August 3, 2025 Posted August 3, 2025 Cleveland owns the Twins. From a USA Today article: The Twins have lost 14 consecutive one-run games at Progressive Field. The Guardians have outscored the Twins only 123-111 in their last 29 meetings in Cleveland, but the Guardians have gone 21-8 in those games.

I thought 75% because we have Ryan and possibly Lopez pitching if they don't have another injury pop up. And yes, lazy effort should find the bench.

HarmonK03 Verified Member Posted August 3, 2025 Posted August 3, 2025 I was really hoping Julien would develop into a contributor but it doesn't look like it will happen here. His defense did improve but then he regressed again. He needs to be given a look at 1B. But according to Rocco. Clemens and Gasper are set there and Julien will only play there in certain configurations whatever that means. This also means we won't see the end of Gasper any time soon as they don't seem to have confidence in Julien over there. If only there was another option, cough Sabato. mrtwinsfan and Parfigliano 2
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2025 Posted August 3, 2025 Seriously when was the last time we had four hits in a row?
