He’s so far down the list of guys to gripe about

Needs to suck it up and get back out there. Defense falls apart without him. He's got 6 months to recover in the offseason.

Care to explain these hieroglyphics?

Twins are above average at preventing steals compared to the rest of the league. League context is always important.

Oh no feel bad for varland honestly he's just in his 20s and they know he's not a good starter they should just put him in the bullpen where he's really good. Honestly feel bad for him he looked really frustrated.

not even a remotely similar play hahaha

Yes, the ball went to LEFT field, which theoretically should be harder to score on.

At this point, I have to say, I honestly have seen little league teams play better than this team. I now wonder if Carlos Correa is taking his time because he was disappointed by the lack of any significant moves at the trade deadline. To put it another way, if the front office doesn't seem to care, why should I.

I for one won't be watching any more. I'm done. Even if they make the playoffs, they will do nothing. OUT!!!

Lewis needs to turn 2 there. Even with the runner going, that's a tailor made DP ball.

Play anybody anywhere.

In the first inning Royce went to cover second base on a base hit to right field. Um, that has zero to do with playing a new position. Right now, Lewis is strictly a DH. I want Lewis to be a superstar or even a good player, but i can't help but remember all of the grief Julien has received playing a much better glove. And no I'm not calling for Julien.

We have three second basemen on the bench though.

But they had the play on to throw home, he should have turned the double play, but they were playing in to cut down the runner at home.  Would have been out of the inning with only 3 runs,

A roller that Larnach actually had to run to get to is so obviously not the Jeffers line drive that the RF (who generally has a better arm) had before Miranda was even beginning to round 3rd. Any semblance of objectivity would be great.

And all of this started because Varland was too concerned with a runner at 1st that he was going to have no chance of picking off anyway.

Actually, I'm wrong.  It started because Castro decided he didn't want to lay out for a ball that landed a step in front of him.  Remember when he was the 1st half MVP?  He's been trash over the last month.

It's truly amazing how much run Varland gets for being a low round pick who's never shown any ability to pitch above double A ball

C'mon. You have to get to at least 10 posts.

Did you notice the infield in with it scoreless and 1st and 3rd?  Why?  Ball hit to shortstop, I want 2 out of that and last night notwithstanding, the Twins don't seem to cut down the contact play like they get cut down themselves on it.  Mindboggling decisions on defensive alignment so early in a scoreless game.

anybody able to lip read Varland before he walked off the field?

Looked like he said "oh fudge" about 20 times.
