Can someone smarter than me...and that's just about everyone here...explain to me what the benefit is, of having Henriquez start this game? Isn't our pen somewhat depleted right now? Wouldn't it have made more sense to just let Louie start, and save Henriquez for possible use later in the game?

edit: I'm pleasantly shocked. And Wallner had about the hardest hit so far.

Send him. It's takes pretty much a perfect play to get any kind of decent runner.

I don't even care if they DO make the play and throw him out. In the long run, you're waaaaay better off sending a runner from second on a hit to the OF EVERY TIME. You score more.

I don't believe for a second that if he was thrown out by 15 feet, like he would have been, that you'd say anything other than how bad Tommy Watkins is at sending runners.

Well you'd be wrong.

There are certainly decisions to make as a third base coach. And Watkins makes a lot of bad ones.

Not sending a runner from second on a hit to the OF is just another one.
