WTF is up with this start time?

7:10 is a typical start time on weekends … perfectly fine if you live on the west coast. Imagine east coasters with the start time at 10:10pm

Derp derp, I was doing the math wrong in my head. I had just woken up.

Still you're not wrong. West Coast teams COULD start an hour earlier, and on Saturdays many hours earlier, but it's a pretty solid competitive advantage not to. Seems to me the Mariners and Angels are the West Coast teams that NEVER do Saturday day games for traveling time-zoners, even though Saturday day games are pretty common.

I believe most baseball games should target a 6:40 start. I go to WAY fewer games because of this 7:10 nonsense and it's much harder to get my kids into the sport when their bedtime is 8pm.

Yeah, my kids are older now and mostly do their own bedtimes, but I remember how frustrating that was. Growing up, it seemed most Twins games started ASAP after the local news, but I could be remembering that wrong.

I need at least one of those little goblins to start loving baseball, I'm not going to do this job forever. 😁

A couple early runs really ease the pressure on the pitching and defense. Love to see a three spot in the first or second inning today.

I failed in that regard, none of my kids have any interest in watching, it's a huge bummer. I'd blame MLB and the Twins for their terrible TV situation and inept marketing, but my kids aren't interested in watching any sports. Not sure what happened, I watched every and anything ESPN had to offer back when I was their age.

I presume Castro will be in the starting lineup at second base again tonight. This will mark the fifth position in where he will have played 20 games (in the 83rd game of the season). Willi has played 164 innings at SS, 144.2 innings in LF, 144 innings in CF, 141.1 innings at 2B and 99 innings at 3B. The injuries to Buxton, Lewis and Correa have given him time in CF, at 3B and SS.

I've never seen someone divide their playing time so equally in so many positions. I hope attention to this can get Willi some All-Star buzz.

Tony Phillips was the first name that came to mind for me. He is the first super utility type I remember A couple of years he had a position he played m,ore than others but there are at least 2 seasons that he player 20 or more games at 4 different positions.

The solution is simple. It’s summer. Later bedtime. But only if they watch the game.

We let them stay up later but only to an extent. If our eldest doesn't get enough sleep or gets over-tired, she turns into a velociraptor.

Velociraptors could make pretty good center fielders...

Good to see Buxton and Jeffers in the lineup. Lewis getting a breather?

Think he maybe needs one lately.

Run down anything in the outfield though.

Make mean work of the chow line in the clubhouse cafeteria too.

Why am I thinking about Ben Revere again?

According to an Audra Martin tweet, he's the 3rd in MLB history to play 20 games at 5 different spots.

Helluva bunter though.

Ever? Or in a season?

Who beat him to it?

In a season.  Zach McKinstry last year and Tony Phillips 1992.  But one of Phillips's spots was DH so strictly from a defensive standpoint, it's just Willi and McK.
