Still you're not wrong. West Coast teams COULD start an hour earlier, and on Saturdays many hours earlier, but it's a pretty solid competitive advantage not to. Seems to me the Mariners and Angels are the West Coast teams that NEVER do Saturday day games for traveling time-zoners, even though Saturday day games are pretty common.

I believe most baseball games should target a 6:40 start. I go to WAY fewer games because of this 7:10 nonsense and it's much harder to get my kids into the sport when their bedtime is 8pm. Yeah, my kids are older now and mostly do their own bedtimes, but I remember how frustrating that was. Growing up, it seemed most Twins games started ASAP after the local news, but I could be remembering that wrong.

Patzky Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2024 Posted June 29, 2024 A couple early runs really ease the pressure on the pitching and defense. Love to see a three spot in the first or second inning today. Peter 1

I'd blame MLB and the Twins for their terrible TV situation and inept marketing, but my kids aren't interested in watching any sports. Not sure what happened, I watched every and anything ESPN had to offer back when I was their age. Brock Beauchamp 1
stringer bell Verified Member Posted June 29, 2024 Posted June 29, 2024 I presume Castro will be in the starting lineup at second base again tonight. This will mark the fifth position in where he will have played 20 games (in the 83rd game of the season). Willi has played 164 innings at SS, 144.2 innings in LF, 144 innings in CF, 141.1 innings at 2B and 99 innings at 3B. The injuries to Buxton, Lewis and Correa have given him time in CF, at 3B and SS. I've never seen someone divide their playing time so equally in so many positions. I hope attention to this can get Willi some All-Star buzz. Riverbrian, wabene and Craig Arko 3

Tony Phillips was the first name that came to mind for me. He is the first super utility type I remember A couple of years he had a position he played m,ore than others but there are at least 2 seasons that he player 20 or more games at 4 different positions. But only if they watch the game.
