Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 30, 2023 Posted September 30, 2023 Which pitchers will we see tonight? Go Twins!

I think Maeda will get two innings, maybe three if his pitch count is low, and then be held out tomorrow so he can be ready if needed on Tuesday. Beyond that they'll manage the pitches with next week in mind. I expect Ober will get as many innings as he can give us tomorrow because he'll almost certainly be kept off the roster for the first round. So hopefully we'll only need a little bullpen help tomorrow.
IndianaTwin Verified Member Posted September 30, 2023 Posted September 30, 2023 Going into today, here's what the 64 permutations of playoff scenarios look like, with three games today and three tomorrow in play.
FlyingFinn Verified Member Posted September 30, 2023 Posted September 30, 2023 Twins pre-game - Polanco and Farmer are going to be assistant managers today. They will listen in on every decision by Rocco and Tingler. They may or may not participate in those discussions.
IndianaTwin Verified Member Posted September 30, 2023 Posted September 30, 2023 And now that we have Tampa Bay 7, Toronto 5, in 10 innings, we are down to 32 permutations: Of note is that, as of now, Toronto is now the most likely Twins opponent. I will update later in the evening. PDX Twin and IndyTwinsFan 2

Yes, I am bitter. You don't have a local station that carries the Rockies game? (assuming you are in Rockies territory)

pierre75275 Verified Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 I know Wallner hit the double but I would love to see him really tag one in Denver. I wonder if he gets over 500 ft. That's why I'm watching tonight
Linus Verified Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 I think Julien knows the strike zone better than the umps. Still frustrating to see so many called third strikes.
SteveLV Verified Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 I cannot think of another Twin that would improve his OBP more than Julien if they went to the minor league Robo Umps. He got hosed on that 3-2 pitch called, and that is the umpteenth time that has happened this season. He has a terrific eye, better than the umps apparently..... PDX Twin and CRF 2

But it doesn't matter if you can distinguish balls from strikes. It's just if you can distinguish what the umpire thinks is a ball from what the umpire thinks is a strike! RpR 1
SteveLV Verified Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Well, that pitch was NOT a strike by any objective basis. It was low. Julien was right. Ump was wrong. If you need to make a Vulcan mind-meld with each ump, good luck with that. wabene and Sutter50 1 1
ziggy Verified Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 I’m at the game. Paddock’s pitches sound heavy. 11 minute fireworks show last night after the game, to bad for the Rockies the Twins won that game. IndyTwinsFan 1

Swing the bat and foul it off; don't stand there looking clueless.

Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Guy has gotten a bad rap. He started with the Twins on Opening Day until he came down with pneumonia in May. My biggest fear is that the Twins take the advice of posters here and trade him.* *actually that’s probably only my 7,810th biggest fear. Fear of Tarantulas would definitely be higher
Linus Verified Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Some really good at bats that inning. Not swinging at balls and doing damage on strikes.
