With so much discussion so early in the game thread, which is great to see, I just wanted to jump in and let everyone know that I added the A's lineup to the OP.

Playing the A's and Rockies this week is like Twins playing spring training games! Not complaining at all. I'd like to see them win them all and have the players amped up bigtime for the next challenge of breaking that 18 game post season losing streak. But who would have imagined the Twins playing the final week against 2 teams that have lost over 100 games.

Also, interesting that last year beginning of Sept, Twins and Guards were neck and neck...and within 3 weeks Twins were a billion games behind. This year same scenario except its the Guards that have fallen completely apart. (In fact Detroit is now in 2nd place!) A total reversal of fortunes!

I hope CC and Lewis are ready to go next week. If so, Twins should be in very good shape. Still a 3 game series is very dangerous.

This is exactly why most people had the division over long before it really was.

When we went into the All Star break .5 game back we werent really a half game behind cleveland because we achieved the same record as them essentially while playing a much tougher schedule

Guardians did their fan base a favor collapsing out of it. Woulda been a tough break entering the final week 1.5 games back knowing we are playing Oakland and Colorado.

Some people refuse to face reality.  Buxton is not playing OF.  Putting him on the playoff roster would be idiotic.

Why? When he's available he can run. It's the next day that's the problem. This is the playoffs and he probably hasn't had his last shot (of cortisone).

Pablo Lopez is TOYING with this A's lineup. Like he can make the ball carve through the air any way he wants. Pretty amazing stuff. 

All the Twins gave away was a batting champion? Good deal.

A's are starting to see the ball vs. Pablo. The game begins...

Still finishes them off, good play by Polo at 3rd. Good scoop by Barrels. Rooker could be a scary hitter with that tight wrist snap.
