I checked the ESPN Gamecast and it is like looking into a mirror. The Twins are hitting .233 as a team, the M's are at .231, Twins have scored 400 runs, Seattle 410, Both teams have a .311 OBP, .372 ERAs and 1.17 WHIPs. Seattle is 46-46 and the Twins are 48-46, Sounds like a split of a four-game series to me.

Not a doctor or pharmacist, but I married one so I feel qualified to say that the internet is most definitely the right course of treatment.

Sorry to work you up.  As tired as I am of seeing this bs, I'm more tired of feeling compelled to vent about it.

So, no Wallner. Why is he up? Seriously? Why is he up?

Not a serious answer but if you really want to be negative - have to let Wallner cool off so when he is played, he doesn't show up Gallo and Kepler.

Wallner is on the roster because he's the perfect complement to Buxton.  The latter right now is a glove-only player who doesn't take the field, and our young guy is a bat-first player who doesn't come to the plate.  Genius platooning!

Not a physics type, but I (barely) passed it in college, so I feel qualified to say that you'll find that the answer is the internet.

I'd like to see Wallner in there tonight too, but the approach of the trade deadline makes roster tactics take precedence, unless we have a sure Cal Ripken being blocked by Pedro Florimon or whoever.  I'll wait two weeks to see what if any return is gotten.   If both Kepler and Gallo are still on the roster on August 2 and with poor performance blocking Wallner and Larnach both, then my pitchfork is ready and I know how to light a torch.

Don’t go being all reasonable in a game thread now.

Every good game thread has a good balance.  You're like the duck to Monty Python's witch.

Honestly, the excuses used to continually shoehorn Kepler into the lineup is going to tarnish how we remember him. They're making his last impression with us as the guy who's blocking the more talented young players? He would have been better remembered as traded, DFA'd or fallen back into a rotational bench role instead of forced to play villain.

The only thing that blocks any rookie is lack of talent, end of story.

I will give the Twins Front Office , they do not treat the player like commodities for money; players go as far as their abilities take them, they are not dumped out like yesterdays trash.

Remember him however you want. I'm just going to remember how he played daddy to Trevor Bauer better than Trevor Bauer played daddy to Tinder dates.

Lots of players/rookies that are blocked, due to their attitude and/or lack of maturity.  Some have mental issues that don't override their talent.

This is a big series for the Twins. Seattle is looking to make a move now and they see a chance to assess their team before the trade deadline and the seven contests with Minnesota are their best shots. I would say the Twins are in the same position but I have zero idea what Falvey and Levine think about the team.

This should be a big series for Byron Buxton as well but maybe nothing that happens is important to the eyes in the front office. The poor guy has been so totally out of whack that it seems unlikely for Buck to turn things around in a meaningful way. Then again .... in the immortal words of Joaquin Anduhar, "There is one word in America that says it all, and that one word is, 'You never know'."

The Twins should just give Wallner his outright release and allow him to get an opportunity with another team. It would be the decent thing to do if they are dead set on giving him any real playing time. The quote by Baldelli was pretty egregious, but then it is unclear if Baldelli even makes out the lineups. It is a cloudy situation.

I do believe Rocco makes out the lineup.  I've seen him scribble on construction paper with a crayon, prior to meeting with the umps at homeplate.

That is also one of the 2 or 3 ways I will remember Kep (2 are positive and 2 of 3 aint bad)

In the spirit of the internet, I will post this before fact checking it. But iirc when the Seattle Seahawks were a new franchise, they played their first season the NFC Central with the Vikes Bears Lions and meatpackers, before switching into the AFC West their second season.

I have a nephew with a PhD in dark matter physics. I went to his defense of his dissertation and understood very little of it
