The radio says Maeda's velocity is down, even from his past starts. If true, he probably should have taken that IL stint.

It was a nice bunt but it also took advantage of a first baseman who thinks the pitcher will make the play and doesn't go for the 3 -1 putout.

According to Gameday, his 4 seam is sitting around 89ish (has not broken 90), and the slider is not breaking 82.  Not gonna fly in the bigs.

I don't know that that will help but he needs to be in plus situations until he figures it out. IL plus a rehab maybe?

The bunt was placed far enough away from first that the 1B wouldn't have gotten there in time to make that play.
