It is not about the "need". It is about developing a player's mindset and stamina. Cruising with no pressure? Perfect time to do that.

While I would have liked Ryan to go one more, I don’t think it’s that much to complain about either. The old days are gonna stay the old days, it seems

Aside from not needing to stretch Ryan, it also provides a good opportunity to give Sands some confidence.
