I can't get past the idea that someone in the front office thought it was a good idea to sign Willi Castro.

I don't have a problem with them signing him. I have a problem with them giving him a spot on the 26 man roster.

He's the first one gone when Polanco or Kirilloff become available. He'd better be, anyway.

Please tell me Rocco at least had Duran warming up when Thielbar was supposed to walk Soler??

Good question,   anyone know ??/

Robo umps now! Pathetic pitch calling to job Larnach.

Yeah he never even threw Larnach an actual strike and he squeezed Thielbar earlier.  Lots more examples as they made life easy for Lazardo as well with strikes well below the zone.

Well, I guess they'll just have to win the next 156.  I'll forget about this loss with that record.

No chance. They're already down a run and you want to warm up and burn Duran?

Story of the game is once again, lacking offense.

A week of games in the books, and the Twins have scored 2 runs or less in 70% of their games.

Letting Solar hit off Thielbar with 2 out turns out to be a pretty impactful decision.

And why? So stupid. It was his third batter…and then you bring in Duran for a chance at a 4-out win….or to get us to extras.

Especially since there was zero chance of scoring a run in the top of the ninth, with Puk already warmed up and ready to go.

Absolutely with two off days next. Has now managed to use his best bullpen arm in 1 of the first six games….or one of the first 5 games for which he was available.

Ok…now I get it.

Once again, this is wonderful news for the Twins starting rotation. Pablo Lopez pitched great against his former team. That's six good starts in a row, with two losses due to weak offense.

It was also the first time in quite a while that I saw Caleb Thielbar get rocked for multiple runs. Miami did not appear impressed with his 92 mph heater right down the middle. Does Thielbar have a changeup? Might be time to use a few.

Thielbar was not going to make it through the season with an ERA of 0.00 and an OPS of .000.  There will be games like this, for even the best relievers.  But... I didn't come into this season thinking we had the makings of a shutdown bullpen, and with Jax and Thielbar pointed to as potential bright spots I see this game as a wakeup call that, like for most teams, our bullpen will work hard to achieve decent regular season results and then be a relative liability in the post-season assuming we make it that far.

Hard to be too upset with Jax. If they aren't dramatically reverse shifted on Segura that was a routine groundout to Correa and he's got 2 outs with nobody on.

Thielbar's fastball was around 94.  Soler teed off on an 89 MPH pitch that looked kind of like a cutter.  Baseball savant called it a slider.  It was the only one he threw, and I don't recall him using an upper 80s slider or cutter at all last year.  Clearly not a great time to try out that pitch.

The move I didn't understand at all is bringing in Thielbar to begin with.....isn't this the spot/reason we trade for Jorge Lopez???

You knew if anyone got on you were going to have Thielbar facing Solar which is a bad matchup.

The ‘bad’ pitch was to the weak hitting De La Cruz to put us behind.

The pitch that put the game out of reach to Soler was a pitch that never should have been thrown…and for which Rocco or Thielbar should be held accountable…or both.

I'd have been fine with Duran starting the 8th.  But He wasn't going to be warmed as a third reliever. And I'm fine with that.
