Giving up on Miranda's hitting already?

No, but on a good offense he's hitting 7th.

Good offenses need a couple three really good hitters. 900 OPS or better.

Nice job Lopez.

Now let's put a couple on the board.

Let's get Pablo that W!

18 Ks combined through 7 innings. Maybe blackouts aren't such a bad thing after all....

It's a pitcher's duel... I love this stuff.

Man Lopez is getting tons of swing and misses on that new sweeper and is now throwing 95-97 versus 93-94? I'm not saying that's what will happen, but that is the foundation for a jump from a #2/#3 to something closer to a #1/#2.

They should let him go to 100 pitches. 4 strikeouts and against the bottom of the order. They should at least let him start the inning.

No chance, IMO.

You're likely right.  If he were closer to 80 pitches, maybe. 88 probably too much

My fear is that Larnach will suffer a minor injury, and be lost for season.

Well, don’t jinx it!

He’s only at 88 pitches. I’d let him at least start the 8th. But that’s me

Why is 88 too much

I don't think it's a matter of "too much", but would likely dictated by who is coming up the next inning.  It's also early in the season.  However I am partial to pitchers and I say let him eat :).

Pretty close to the magic 100 pitch count number and usually need more than 12 pitches to get through an inning?  Couple that with a lefty leading off the bottom of the 8th in a tie ball game.  I'd send Lopez out, but I doubt he does.

Eh, not counting this game Miami has scored 2 or fewer runs in 5/6 games and 3/5 for the Twins. That's a lot of dueling, buy hey, if you can find a silver lining I'm kinda jealous.

Saying it could jinx it … don’t you know anything about superstitions and baseball???????

The bottom of the lineup is coming up and Lopez has struck out 4 in a row if not now then when

Probably never.  Couple that with it only being his second start of the year and probably isn't stretched out enough.

Well, I was with you... I would at least have looked at bringing him back out again.

However, the prudent thing would be to go with a new pitcher.

Adulting sucks :)

As good as these Marlins starters are (and they’re really good), both Maeda and Lopez looked pretty good too.
