Rumor: Bryan Reynolds has Requested a Trade from the Pirates

Byran Reynolds has requested to be traded from Pittsburgh. his news has really shocked the MLB world. Many teams have salivated on the aspect of retaining Reynolds only to be denied by PIT. I'm sure PIT is reeling because Reynolds was their hope to finally begin to grasp the thought of competing. Now the flood gates have been opened. PIT organization is full of great prospects it'll be interesting how PIT will pivot.

I really doubt that the Twins are serious about retaining Reynolds services. But depending how PIT will react, I'm hoping some how an avenue to Endy Rodriguese could open up.

Starts with Lewis or Lee  or Pittsburgh hangs up. Whether that is right or not.

Reynolds was on my trade radar in '20, him & Musgrove. I believe his BTV value was 30 something, now it's almost 60

Don't think they're moving Rodriguese.  Not for what we'd be offering.

PIT still says they won't trade him, but when a player says he wants to be traded. It's hard not to trade him.

Trading stars for many players didn't always work..... But Pittsburgh is terrible with little depth. I'd consider it if them, given they'll never play in the deep end of free agency.

Sometimes the organization just mishandles the situation.  I remember when the Timberwolves moved Marbury.  They should have brought him into the office and gave him two options.  Sign the extension or get traded to the Clippers.  NOBODY wanted to be traded to the Clippers at that time.

Beginning of the off season there was only Nimmo available at CF, then there was Bellinger Now with teams maybe holding out on Reynolds that can effect the salary on Nimmo

The problem with that is maybe the MLB version of the NBA Clippers is the Pirates.

I'd LOVE to somehow get Reynolds here. Don't have any idea if it's possible, or if the FO is even interested. They'd be crazy not to at least make a call and explore it. Derek Shelton is the Pirates manager, so he knows a lot of our players. He was the bench coach here for a couple years. Reynolds has been a rumored trade target for teams for a while, but Pitt has been adamant about not moving him.

This is not happening for the Twins. Don’t look now but the Twins are one major trade like this (if it is all prospects) from having a pretty barren farm system.

An offer of Royce Lewis, Brooks Lee, and Emmanuel Rodriguez maybe gets your call returned from Pittsburgh… 

More than likely he stays put until the trade deadline at least.

I don't think we have the prospects to get him. Seatle has an opening in left field and the Padres have been interested in acquiring him for years. I may take a three-team trade to meet the Pirates ask for him.

Gonna have to be an awful big trade.  All I keep reading about is how we need to get rid of so many players because we just have way too many.  Frankly, I'm shocked that we haven't won the last few World Series' and aren't prohibitive favorites going forward.  Vegas must have the lines all wrong.

Count them up. Here is a list of elite prospects: Lee Lewis E Rod. Good prospects might include Julien and SWR and Martin. This trade would require 3 of the six. What are you left with?  A bunch of guys who profile as marginal big leaguers.

NO WAY they ask for that. 

Larnach or Walner, with Gilberto and one of Winder, Sands or Varland. I would think that would get it done. All very controllable with some quality upside.

TBD if Oakland will open up the wallet once they get a new stadium.

Pittsburgh already failed in that regard. Every other team saw a payroll boost with a new stadium, at least for a while. Pittsburgh generously only had the 13th lowest payroll when they opened up their new stadium. It's been pretty much bottom five for the 20 years since.

This is undoubtedly the worst ownership in MLB in my view. The other owners should not put up with what Nutting has done, it's a flat out embarrassment for an original and classic franchise and everyone turning a blind eye to what's happening there should be out of a job.
