The Tigers are really bad at baseball.

Yeah, but they beat the Twins 4 out of 5  in late May and the Twins haven’t been right since.

I was impressed too, I didn’t think they would do much

Likewise.

Though a little bit of me thought they'd set a really high bar for wheeling and dealing this spring, so there was a germ of hope, expectation even. I just hadn't given it any thought, so left the default setting on low expectations, as i had no hope at all of predicting anything.

I don't know -- would you prefer he say, "We did some things, but I still think we suck"?

What do you expect him to say?

One of the 7 deadly sins..... pride, right? :go: I guess I think he could talk about what he did without the proudness. Let others tell you they are proud of you, especially with the pitching provided off season and what we had until the deadline.

Hopefully that continues through at least tomorrow...

Was that back-to-back plays where Arraez avoided a tag? It's hard to see on the radio.

Time to get a higher resolution radio!

Just landed at the airport and heading home.  Saw all but the Fulmer trade before the flight.  Worthwhile upgrades at reasonable expense.

Then Contreras homers.

Must be jet lag.

Fair enough.

Don't know if you're on TV or radio, but on the latter, I heard him as someone still pretty hopped up on Red Bull. I'm guessing he'll sleep well tonight. And in framing it as a "We," I also hear it as being proud of the team that put the deals together. I think you have to have a strong ego to be in a position like his, but he seems to share credit pretty well and work toward a team concept.

This song plays in the background whenever the Tigers play baseball.

Especially when I get to the 4th through 6th innings. Time to switch to the Detroit broadcast so I can understand what's happening.

Somebody who hustles everything out, isn't afraid to get the jersey dirty, etc.

TV. I heard it as a cummulative proudness of the team we have put together, not just today's trades. We may be including the whole scouting/FO team, but the pride was of the MLB team on the field I thought. It is common these days for folks to congratulate themselves. Just the take I have from the listen as it happened.

Proudness? Just sounded confident to me. Which is acceptable everywhere outside of Minnesota where passive-aggressiveness is the only acceptable outward front.

And 77 pitches and a pumpkin. Our starters are stuck in the high 70's all week. Walks just kill Archer.

Thielbar should be ready soon and there will need to be a spot for Mahle, so Moran is pitching to stay on the roster IMHO.

Not looking good for Moran thus far
