Abreu is a tough out right now. That he only got a single wasn’t too bad, but now they’ve tied the score. I thought if they could hold the lead there, Duran could close it out.

From the staff all day.  Ryan several times.  Jax throwing thigh high fastballs on 1-2 is just inexcusable.  You can't miss by that much to good hitters.

I was trying to picture that errant throw compared to a classic Eddie Rosario adventure.

But stopped when I considered Rosario might have caught that first hit and the inning would have been over.

Technically not a defensive replacement. However, Dick and Glen were talking about Celestino pinch running as killing two birds with one stone because Kirilloff was replaced in the field around the same inning yesterday.

Yep. It was about a week ago where one of the TD writers tweeted Jax has only seen ~15% of PAs in high leverage situations. It is worth the look to see if he can do it. There’s also a reason why his stats looked really clean.
