I hope you’re right about Alcala. His return as a high-leverage bullpen arm would be huge. I guess in my mind he is about as likely to return healthy and effective as he is to be shut down for the year (I guess I’m a pessimist). The prudent thing to do is acquire one or two bullpen arms from the several non-contenders in MLB. A left hander makes too much sense to not pull the trigger. 
 

The starting rotation has exceeded expectations and might actually have some depth, but they aren’t giving innings, so a deep bullpen is absolutely necessary.
