The Rockies scored one in the top of the first, the Twins scored 3 in the bottom of the 1st … and Ryan struggling in the 2nd

The Twins are slipping back into the bad habits of the past few years.   Poor base running, not hustling, throwing to improper bases from, non coverage of covering bases, etc.  Baldelli doesn't reflect any consistency, and the pitching can't keep the pressure on the opposition.

He's talking about the bad defense - a Rockies player just popped up to first base and the runner tagged and went from 1st to 2nd on the play. This means if the current batter up hits a single, 2 runs score rather than 1.
