bighat Verified Member Posted June 7, 2022 Author Posted June 7, 2022 Wow, right out of central casting.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 There’s not a single pitcher anywhere in the organization that could do better than this? It’s batting practice
notoriousgod71 Verified Member Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 I'd be cool releasing Sands along with 95% of our pitching staff.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 Btw, apparently MLB replaced the balls a few weeks ago, though they deny it..... I'm concerned about the health of some of you this week. Y'all are going to need to just relax.
Guest Guests Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 Why. Why do we have Sands in on the opening game with the Yankees….

Mill1634 Verified Member Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 Well, I got the Yankees over 4.5 runs -115. I feel pretty confident about that bet

CRF Verified Member Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 This could be funny...if it wasn't so sickening.

It’s batting practice That's what I was thinking as well. We had three bullpen guys who skipped the whole Toronto series. We couldn't cobble together a bullpen game with an opener? Get 2 each out of Theibar, Megill and Pagan? Put in Sands in the 6th for a couple more? Twins may as well have forfeited, these games where they don't even try to compete really bothers me.

Mill1634 Verified Member Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 I don't think I've ever shut a game off before the end of the third inning (that I was watching from the start). Being down 3-0 in the third with a dude who can't get AAA hitters out facing the Yankees is putting that into serious jeopardy.
tony&rodney Verified Member Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 Maybe Sands grew up a Yankees fan. Seriously though, it is tough to jump from trying to get established at AAA to pitching against a hot Yankees team.

cHawk Community Moderator Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 Geez...why are we pitching Sands against the Yankees again?

A gut fastball? He should see nothing but sliders on the outside corner. If you walk him, you walk him.
