As I said before he hates not playing, not DHing, he said it destroys his timing and I think he knows what affects him most.

Sure but we all saw him run on that double. He’s clearly hurt. The only options are to either play him sparingly (including dh days) or IL him.

I’m not convinced which is a better option, though I’m starting to lean IL.

Too bad they never taught Celestino how to steal. He had a few good opportunities. He's fast enough

Twins do not steal bases, too old school.

Agreed

He also looked like he was in a bit of pain after diving head first on the SAC fly. He clearly isn't at 100% (not that this is news to most)

Yeah that situation just screamed stolen base attempt.

A stolen bag early would've meant another run

Bremer sounds totally amazed at Minaya’s success

Didn’t he settle in pretty well for us last year? I think I’ve already blocked last year from my mind so I honest,y don’t remember

I just checked Cruz's stats. at Baseball Ref. and he would be far, far better than what the Twins toss out there.

I'd definitely put Buxton on the IL and try to get him healthy. I'm comfortable with Celestino in center and an injured Buxton just hasn't provided enough value at DH to justify the Twins strategy.

When Hicks was with the Twins, I was convinced that he would never be better than a fourth OF. He was excellent for one full season and a couple of partial seasons, including the COVID year, I don't think I was far wrong about Hicks, but what they got in return was basically nothing.

You the team doctor now? :)

I agreed I didn't know what the best option was. I just don't the information to be as certain as some here. Could be that I'm in Portland and don't have access to the players.... But I do love your post. It made me laugh.

He didn't look hurt scoring from 3rd.  Over 30 feet per second from 3rd to home.

He was as good as any reliever we have

All in good fun, man.

This needs to be Minaya's last hitter. He is clearly losing it, and the game isn't out of reach (yet), which may be better than we can say the next two nights. Don't throw this one away.

That’s not very comforting

He has great stuff....he just always has had problems with control.  And that's evident tonight.

Yes, he was very good late last year FWIW.
