I am a new Twins fan this year, so I am lacking in the farm system, but is there not anyone better than Pagan in the farm to close the deal?

Nope. I have said since April that the Twins either have to get another reliever from outside the organization or convert a young arm to the bullpen.

Pagan is so close to becoming Ron Davis 2.0 just hold your breath and hope.

Thanks for reminding me about Ron Davis

Not sure why Benintendi didn't swing at that one, seemed like a good pitch to hit... we escape again in the 9th inning alive from a Pagan encounter! We really shouldn't keep counting on that happening.

If Jax is only going to go one inning (like tonight) he might get looks.

Twins win!

Huge to win that game as Devin is easily the worst starter pitching on either side in this series, and Lynch locked the Twins down last time out. The lineup got off to a great start, hit a lull, and then picked things up again. Smeltzer got by with smoke and mirrors, but the results are positive. Duffey and Pagan were not good, but Duran shows that he's a top 10 reliever in baseball. Jose Miranda comes up huge in his last game as a Twin for a while (probably).

Until tomorrow,

ENJOY YOUR CHICKEN!

Predicting Pagan's going to get it done quicker than usual tonight.

I bet you were hoping nobody noticed that comment.  ?

Would you rather blow the lead in the 7th with pagan and have two more at bats to come back or blow it in the 9th with him and lose

No.

Pagan is the anti-Davis.  Similar results, in the end, probably.  But if you could combine Davis's talent with Pagan's refusal to crack under pressure, you'd have an actually good closer.

I think we should officially call it the Emilio Pagan Experience (EPE).

I think Rocco is leaning towards Everyday Emilio.

Hahaha, it still seemed quicker than most Pagan innings to me.

Right? He didn't even load the bases!

Pagán didn’t walk anybody, and was able to allow three hits on solid contact and still hold them to one run. I was certain he’d try the change on 3-2, but Benintendi was looking for anything but that.
