Game Thread "Good Grief" Twins vs. White Sox 6:40pm cdt 5/17/2021

Yeah, grief is supposed to be good... So i am told.

 

Today, i felt it appropriate to honor Charles Schultz. I am sure he would approve Minnesota's baseball team and its stick-to-it-ive-ness in the face of welming odds (no just welming, we only wish they were over)

 

I am too lazy to track down an iconic baseball image, or rather taking a small look, that the series ran almost half a centrmury, i am awed and humbled by the creativity inherent in such a run. Anyway, mad props go to.who ever can track down the image what best represents the Twins season so far.

 

Even as kids we appreicated the strip, as i have vague memories of friends competing to see who could yell the name of the comic strip the loudest.

I am surprised to see the White Sox have the best record in baseball - they are good, but they do have any easy schedule playing in this division.

Hmm,.. with the way both teams are playing and how Chicago kills lefties  I am not coming into this game with a lot of optimism, but on any given day anything can happen.  We can hope for the best!  I am expecting a boycott at today's game - no, not from how the Twins are playing but rather on the presumptive surname of the White Sox Right-fielder.

Twins pitchers just look pathetic.  Happ looks like he can't even get the pitch over the plate.  Can any of the Twins pitchers get a hitter to swing and miss?   Damn, 3 hitters into the game and it looks terrible already.  Same old stuff.
