shortround81 Verified Member Posted April 21, 2021 Posted April 21, 2021 Really ok with having romo on another team It's weird seeing him without the beard!
stringer bell Verified Member Posted April 21, 2021 Author Posted April 21, 2021 I don't think Romo will be in the A's bullpen for long. He lasted longer with less stuff than a whole bunch of pitchers.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2021 Posted April 21, 2021 Getting big thunder strom and lots of rain right now in my corner of the world. So bringer of rain is apropo... And i got like 8 pages of game thread to catch up on. Y'all are doin' good in my absence. It’s been snowing most of the day here

twins1095 Verified Member Posted April 21, 2021 Posted April 21, 2021 Interesting to only have Dobnak go 1-inning, what's the point of him? I also don't really get prioritizing Shoemaker/Happ over Dobnak. Both have pretty much the same type of floors with less ceiling. Make one of the vets the long-reliever guy.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2021 Posted April 21, 2021 Romo is on the Fernando Rodney path - pitch decently at an old age for the Twins, and then implode with the A’s.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2021 Posted April 21, 2021 I would have stayed with Dobby for another inning... not sure who gets the 7th after this.
bighat Verified Member Posted April 21, 2021 Posted April 21, 2021 I still don't think the Twins are going to win this game, but I have to admit it's been fun watching them come back and hit the ball around the yard a bit. Good signs.

whosafraidofluigirussolo Verified Member Posted April 21, 2021 Posted April 21, 2021 I also am wondering why they didn't try to get another inning out of Dobnak, especially with Oakland's 8 and 9 hitters due up (though the no. 8 guy Brown has been hot today.)
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2021 Posted April 21, 2021 Wake me up when this PA is over. Good lord.
bighat Verified Member Posted April 21, 2021 Posted April 21, 2021 I would have stayed with Dobby for another inning... not sure who gets the 7th after this.I think after Dobby pitched a scoreless inning, Rocco removed him just to let the guy come back to the bench and get a "win" for a change. He's given up runs and/or leads virtually every time, he just needed a positive outing.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2021 Posted April 21, 2021 We’re making canha look like Ted f*ing Williams
bighat Verified Member Posted April 21, 2021 Posted April 21, 2021 Wake me up when this PA is over. Good lord.Wake up! It was a groundout to Donaldson who couldn't get the ball out of his glove. Tying man up at the plate.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2021 Posted April 21, 2021 Robles isn’t giving Jeffers a chance to throw out anyone with that slow leg kick. Well, I guess he could throw out a hobbling Nellie Cruz.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2021 Posted April 21, 2021 What in gods name was that throw by Jeffers? Looked like high school

Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2021 Posted April 21, 2021 Fluffy rain. I forget, how many inches snow = 1 inch rain?Usually 12
RickOShea Verified Member Posted April 21, 2021 Posted April 21, 2021 Jeffers is a kid who had a catcher's mitt given to him in Little League. So naturally............
RickOShea Verified Member Posted April 21, 2021 Posted April 21, 2021 The A's may not be a great team, but the Twins are making them look like the toughest SOBs in the American League.
