tvagle Verified Member Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 TwinsDaily may have to spin up another VM for all the traffic this move will generate Good to have another lefty option for the LLLOOGY (Little Longer LOOGY) this season
IndianaTwin Verified Member Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 L3OGY just doesn’t have the same ring to it. Or it it LTOGY?

sweetmusicviola16 Verified Member Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 I get the impression that any more pen adds will be along this line. I also sense that payroll will be down, I'm thinking under 120mil.

They only have two 40 man spots left and they need a veteran starter of some kind whether bounce back or whatever and then they have to decide if they want a 1st or 3rd baseman with decent defensive skills. The pen adds will be like this one. The FO doesn't seem like they like to invest a lot of dollars on the pen and if spots are needed for the 40 man the pen guys are the first to be sacrificed. I think they view the pen as their lowest priority IMO. They have put together a decent pen via the farm system so it appears to be working OK. In their defense if you look at it we have a lot of good prospects in the upper levels especially at the AA level with some pitchers that could be fast movers in High A as well. If they want to move our own farm guys up they will need 40 man room later this year for maybe Kirilloff or Larnach or Rooker or maybe Colina who needs to be added next year anyway. Granted there are still guys that can come off the 40 man and if you can upgrade your roster you should but this FO will only do it if they perceive it be a value move. I think they are looking at the farm to provide what they need once again.

Squirrel Community Moderator Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 Since this is a minor league signing, this thread was moved to the Minor League forum. It also received a mention in Seth's 'Minor League Signings' thread.

DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 Don't know what he throws or how hard. I have looked at numbers but haven't taken time to look for a scouting report. As is often the case, he is a flier type that all teams look for. However, he has had some success with Oakland the past few years and has had double digit SO per 9 IP in the minors several times.
bighat Verified Member Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 The Twins were busy getting this guy, meanwhile the Angels just signed Teheran. Edit: and the White Sox grabbed Gio Gonzalez.
ashbury Verified Member Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 Thanks Squarol...I must have missed Seth's post through all the breaking news from One Twins Way I think you need an 'e' at the end to really make this work.

Throws each pitch with equal frequency. Will get AAA hitters out with the breaking stuff.

mikelink45 Old-Timey Member Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 Wow - Coloumbe plus Theilbar plus Hardy - I believe the White Sox and Cleveland just put up white flags and conceded the title to the new and mighty Twins.

This site has an established feature of condensing double spaces after periods (and other punctuation) to no spaces. Maybe that happens before the emojis get populated. Or pick your other favorite white space character. Been a while since i have cared too much about asci. Also i am not wise in the ways of emoji. Someone recently enlightened me about the significance of eggplants and peaches. Which i suppose i was doing okay not knowing, but still, one likes to know what one did wrong...

sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted December 20, 2019 Posted December 20, 2019 Attention to detail is fun for its own sake. I think i came to this thread two fold: to find out more about the pitcher, and to see who brought up Coulomb's law first. I am still wondering if leaving the e off of Squarole counts as just such an intentional convoluted (not to mention oblique) reference* or not... Which is perhaps again a detail no one else may care about. But thanks. That's one mystery cleared up... *the best kind, of course. Nothing but the best on TD.
