insagt1 Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 EVen if we had to replace our injured front liners with the 'B' team...how much better do injured A team players do than their replacements, on this team? Its hard to say but right now Yankees have our number no matter who plays. We need to change the direction of this game...stop making Tanaka look like Verlander out there. Our 3-2 lack of success continues.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Nasty pitch to cave. What can you do
diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Umpire flinched there didn’t heyankees always get the border line calls.. it's why you'll never see robot umps.
S. Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 That was a nice pitch. Wish they had been calling that pitch a strike last night for Berrios.
Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 I thought that was a ball too
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 How many fastballs for strikes has Tanaka thrown? 2nd time through now, start making him throw it.
MNT1996 Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 It was a strike according to the zone overlay
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 The twins don’t really have it in them to be patient like the Yankees. Not their game IMO
tvagle Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Nasty pitch to cave. What can you do?Swinging looks better
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Haven’t done diddly-poo squat since Edward GIDP
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 They have no clue on that slider. I mean it's a killer pitch but he's throwing with impunity.
mike2202 Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Hitters fouling off and seem like taking weak swings.
bighat Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Kepler showing some rust, which is unfortunate because the Twins don't have the time needed to get him into playing shape. Such a tough call for Rocco with Kepler. Do you let him and his 36 HR play, or do you throw in another less-talented guy who hasn't been sitting? So far it looks like the wrong call was made.
mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Maybe for once we can win the middle innings, Gotta relax and Take better at bats, its like Tanaka is toying with most batters
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 The twins best bet against this team is to strike as late as possible. They play even worse with a lead so getting ahead in the 4th would be nice but I’d rather the 9th
insagt1 Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Exactly! This season has probably been the most fun I ever remember watching baseball. They're off to a bad start this series, but how about a little perspective. Not many expected them to make it this far. That depends on what your level of success is. Its different for everyone. Some will look at the 101 wins be satisfied. Others will look at post season failures and not be satisfied. If the goal is to win the WS...then you need to win some post season games. For me, thats pretty important. It doesn't minimize what they did regular season...but theres more work to be done.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 The Yankees punish everything in the zone, that's the difference.
Blake Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 They have no clue on that slider. I mean it's a killer pitch but he's throwing with impunity. It looks to me like Tanaka is executing his pitches. Not much left in the middle of the zone and it looks like he's catching the edges enough to make it a fools game to let pitches go. So far, Tanaka is pitching a whale of a game, darn it.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 I had to work the football game today. It started at 1PM and I knew it was go past first pitch. I was yelling at the coaches for calling time outs. I gotta Twins game starting... Let's Go.

bighat Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Haven’t done diddly-poo squat since Edward GIDP For what it's worth, Eduardo did hit that ball hard and made good contact on that DP. As I'm writing this, the Yankees are getting hits by placing balls away from the shift. Twins just having terrible luck so far both offensively and defensively.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Commentators discussing who would pitch game 5 for the twins. And you guys cite bias.

Maybe next time ask for a note from "mommy" and we'll see if we can get you the day off, I mean, a sick day?
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Looked like that caught the zone.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 ****ing umpires strike again.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 First two guys reaching. The recipe for success
bighat Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Unreal that Dobnak is getting squeezed. That was a clear strike to Gardner. Meanwhile, Tanaka got a strike call on a ball outside to Cave. How are these umps sleeping at night?
mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Wt hell 2-1 pitch was perfect if Garver wouldnt of reacted that way
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Could have used that strike call Blue!!! The kid just got married... Keep that in mind.
