MNT1996 Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Anyone else get that feeling watching Yankees batters at the plate - that there's like a 90% chance they're going to get a base hit and just a 10% chance they'll make an out? Unfortunately that's exactly what it looks like the Twins pitchers are thinking.
wavedog Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 What the F kind of jump was that[/quoteThat did look look like a strange jump - almost a half jump but not sure. Wanted to see a replay
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Anyone else get that feeling watching Yankees batters at the plate - that there's like a 90% chance they're going to get a base hit and just a 10% chance they'll make an out? The crowd going nuts, these sluggers just knocking balls all over the place, Twins pitchers walking guys left and right....they just look so extremely overmatched. The reason they’re hitting so well is Twins pitchers are giving them favorable counts in almost every at bat. Their team batting average is virtually the same as the Twins, they are not better
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 DP helps. Down by 1 because Twins only think HR instead of trying to get runs in the conventional way.Home runs are unconventional? Who knew?
Blake Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Thank god stanton is the slowest man aliveYou think he's slower than Encarnacion?
insagt1 Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Rocco could get 2nd guessed bigtime if this series goes just 3 games and it turns out that several of the players on the roster were too hurt to contribute. Kepler and Cron look VERY injured. Arraez struggled in game on despite Rocco proping him up. Garver also looks not right. Oh well....only the 2nd inning.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 I’m 2 hours from NY and I’ve been wearing my twins sweatshirt all week. Everyone has been laughing at me
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Garver sure looking at a lot of strikes
wavedog Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Do we get good Garver today? Please
insagt1 Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Home runs are unconventional? Who knew?don't be a smarty. You know exactly what I mean. Yanks got 10 runs yesterday..2 on solo HRs. Twins scored 4, 3 on solo HR's. I would like to see Twins score some runs with some sustained pressure and baserunners. Eddie's DP just got us off to a crappy start.Tanaka is one tough pitcher. And Dobnak is going to have to shut these guys down in order for us to have a chance today.
Blake Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 No matter what happens today, this situation is on Falvine, not Dobnak. Yes, because the FO knew that Pineada was going to get busted for PED's and Dyson was going to be lost due to injury.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 I think they need to talk about Tanaka more.........
mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Garver a bit picky, aggresive
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Do we get good Garvey today? Pleaseafter that at bat, still TBD
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Home runs are unconventional? Who knew?Well, one person can hit a homerun. Convening usually implies some measure of team work. At least that is my convention.
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Yes, because the FO knew that Pineada was going to get busted for PED's and Dyson was going to be lost due to injury.well it would be nice if they had more than one starter
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 don't be a smarty. You know exactly what I mean.Smarty... oh smartie. They hand lots of them out late in October.
Bomba2026 Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 I think Dobnak will be ok. Twins pitching in the first has not always been good. I hope they talk to him because I'd sure be nervous with all that noise. Our hitters need to pretend the fans are cheering for them!
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 !!!! (Just waiting for a name...)
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Arraez is making me look like a fool to everyone I told how good he is
FlauerPauer Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 How about another oppo shot, Sano!
howeda7 Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Yes, because the FO knew that Pineada was going to get busted for PED's and Dyson was going to be lost due to injury.No. But even with Pineda, we'd be starting Dobnak/Gibson/Perez in game 4.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Just no chance, miguel. No chance.
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Sano swings at three pitches out of the zone, the Yankees take walks
pierre75275 Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Until the Twins beat the Yankees in a playoff series?, the Twins will always be scared of them. The only way to get confidence is to beat them. Everybody can talk every year about this years team being different and not impressed with the Yankees but until the Twins start beating them...The past matters no matter how much nobody wants it to
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Tanaka moving the ball around pretty well, no patience again though. It's the 2nd inning, take a freaking strike already.
bighat Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Not a great inning from the offense there. This team needs a 1-2-3 inning from Dobnak in a big way. C'mon buddy! No walks! Make 'em swing.
