Anyone else get that feeling watching Yankees batters at the plate - that there's like a 90% chance they're going to get a base hit and just a 10% chance they'll make an out? 

 

 

Unfortunately that's exactly what it looks like the Twins pitchers are thinking.

The crowd going nuts, these sluggers just knocking balls all over the place, Twins pitchers walking guys left and right....they just look so extremely overmatched.

The reason they’re hitting so well is Twins pitchers are giving them favorable counts in almost every at bat. Their team batting average is virtually the same as the Twins, they are not better

DP helps. Down by 1 because Twins only think HR instead of trying to get runs in the conventional way.

Rocco could get 2nd guessed bigtime if this series goes just 3 games and it turns out that several of the players on the roster were too hurt to contribute. Kepler and Cron look VERY injured. Arraez struggled in game on despite Rocco proping him up. Garver also looks not right. Oh well....only the 2nd inning.

don't be a smarty. You know exactly what I mean. Yanks got 10 runs yesterday..2 on solo HRs. Twins scored 4, 3 on solo HR's. I would like to see Twins score some runs with some sustained pressure and baserunners. Eddie's DP just got us off to a crappy start.

Tanaka is one tough pitcher. And Dobnak is going to have to shut these guys down in order for us to have a chance today.

I think Dobnak will be ok. Twins pitching in the first has not always been good. I hope they talk to him because I'd sure be nervous with all that noise. Our hitters need to pretend the fans are cheering for them!

Until the Twins beat the Yankees in a playoff series?, the Twins will always be scared of them. The only way to get confidence is to beat them.

 

Everybody can talk every year about this years team being different and not impressed with the Yankees but until the Twins start beating them...
