It's crazy the way Graterol can't get elevated swinging strokes with that velocity. Wish he hid the ball a bit.

As has been pointed out, Brusdar doesn’t really get swing and misses.

 

I think he'll be alright. Dude can't even buy a beer legally in the US yet. I bet he figures it out.

He passed away this year. :(

Wikipedia says he died in Idaho. I wonder how a guy from California who played in Cleveland, Detroit, Chicago and KC ended up there?

 

Wait a second.....there’s an AL central city missing from his resume.

Wow, you can really see the potential of Graterol. Easy upper 90's, on balance, efficient delivery. He's only going to get better, folks. Keep working on the change up, kid. Oh, and work on the upper zone strikes, too. If he can learn to dot the corners with that heat, he'll be a very, very good starter.

Littell has looked so much better since hopping into the bullpen and adding 4+ MPH to his fastball. I wouldn't mess with his success. I'd pencil him into a spot in the pen in 2020; not a high leverage spot, but certainly a roster spot.

I greed for more!

I don't get it -- why did they call him the Sphinx?

His obit in the Free Press indicates it was a reference to his nose. Wait, the original Sphinx doesn't have a nose. Right, it got broken. :)

Every good FA has 5-10 teams going after him. Only one gets him. The other 4-9 are left wondering if their owner didn't offer enough. That's possible (and not necessarily bad---there are lots of foolish contracts offered) but it could also be that the player just preferred to play somewhere else.

Since this is a game thread, I'll refrain....

Something new to worry about: Cleveland's trailing the Wild Card race to both the Rays and A's. Meaning that if Cleveland catches the Minnesota, it's more than likely the Twins don't even make the playoffs.

If they catch us because they go on an insane tear, we might be all right. If they catch us because we fold, you are very correct. If we go .500, it's going to be a nail biter. I don't like all this jinxing with comments about playoffs being assured. Let's wait until Monday morning to assess.

Yeah, I don't like it either. I've seen a fair share of posts talking about lots of post-season stuff as if the playoffs are a given. With another game against Washington and 3 at Cleveland, and the Twins offense that scores 2 runs per game, I have no idea why anyone's so confident. Detroit and KC can beat this Twins team more than once each.
