I was on the Tortuga bandwagon, big-time.

 

But there's a difference between just making contact per se, and making good contact.

Astudillo is awful. No place on a major league roster, imo.

 

Could be a great coach or mascot.

Classic FRE, puts two baserunners on, and then goes 1-2-3 the rest of the batters. It's like he needs to get his blood pressure up, and then he can start getting outs.

Also, not sure how Garver didn't pinch hit for either Astudillo or Adrianza. It sure seemed like he was ready to pinch hit, not sure why they didn't give him a chance there...

He's playing 1B. First basemen bring the power. Don't let them tell you otherwise, with their fancy stats and such.

Why didn't we bring Garver in for Astudillo? Couldn't he play first base?

Cron could of -   didnt like him hitting there, -  This might be a 3 game lead friday night against Clevinger,   Gonna be intresting

Yeah...nice defensive versatility, I'd like to see him win the backup job (maybe?) next year. But not an every day guy.

 

Astudillo's shine has worn off a bit. Still capable, but he's got a pretty low ceiling.
