Game Thread: Twins vs Nationals, 9/11 @ 6:40 PM

[FlauerPauer]

A patented Arraez slap to left would be great right about now.

Edit: Rats, I thought Schoop was batting ninth... my bad.

Dang, a shame Wade didn't score on that double. Glad the Twins are at least making Strasburg work a bit!

[VATwinsFan]

Why hot pinch hit for Castro?

He's helpless.

Ha! How many athletes are ugly people? Judge, Blake Griffin... who else. I can't really think of many more.

Obligatory.

Ballplayers have evolved quickly, apparently.

[Richie the Rally Goat]

Ugh, Castro...

[FlauerPauer]

Castro has sucked so much over the past two/three months.

[Aggies7]

Wasting just about every opportunity so far.

[Squirrel]

poop

[notoriousgod71]

I think Schoop had a better chance of getting a little league home run than Castro had of getting a run home.

I will not be sorry to see him gone at season's end.

[bighat]

Strasburg strikes out the side in the end. These Twins just can't put the ball in play enough.

If Perez can get through one more, maybe the top of the order can give this team a chance next inning. Gotta hit the ball, though.

[Hosken Bombo Disco]

On the plus side, this should reduce the chance Perez is back next year. Or that he starts a playoff game.

but if you were to tell me he starts five or six playoff games...

[bighat]

Castro has sucked so much over the past two/three months.

He's a career .232 hitter. He's hitting .236 this year. He's pretty much just your typical backup, light-hitting catcher. Been awful since the All-Star break.

Jason Castro tends to strike out looking a lot.

Sit down Castro! Don't complain to the ump because you wouldn't take the bat off your shoulder!

MLB At Bat had the ball outside.

Maybe he’s fake arguing or letting Cuzzi put him in his place. Because on replay you could see Castro closing his eyes and mouthing the word “dam” as the ball crossed the plate.

So maybe Castro is playing a nine-inning chess match with the ump or something.

[Blake]

Unfortunately, Castro has looked overmatched at the plate lately.

[Mike Sixel]

I'd take that....

Such language! My eyes!!!

and Bingo!

Gets a called strike three off the corner

[nicksaviking]

You don't pay real money for a number five starter.

I wouldn’t want to either, but the team thus far has one starter aside from Perez. I could see them paying for a safety net.

Though, to be perfectly clear, a two-run single would have been useful, too.

What is with you people and Blake's?

For the record, my ears and nose aren't that big. close, though.

There's a couple free agents that are intriguing. Hope they go reallllll hard after Cole.

[Hosken Bombo Disco]

Arraez is the most locked-in, intense batter on this team.

[Blake]

Annnnd the Angels leave the bases loaded in the bottom of the first.

Around here, that's known as the "Twins Special."

[operation mindcrime]

Looks like it's just you and I, @ashbury lol

Is this a Lionel Richie song?

[Blake]

I doubt it. Face made for radio and a voice made for mime.

FYI I stole this quote from the late Ron Luciano.

Don Mossi, right?

[ScrapTheNickname]

For all the talk about aging free having trouble getting contracts, the Nats sure do have a slew of them.
