Strasburg is obviously very good but he's also given up at least 4 runs in 9 of his 29 starts.

If he has a slightly off night, who knows what might happen?

And then there is Perez.

More bad luck than good in the first. Eaton's ball was perfectly placed, more than hard hit, Soto's single just out of Polanco's reach and and 14 hopper from Zimmerman. Dozier hit the ball on the nose.

Which ignores the first two baserunners, and is kind of my point, above. You put yourself at the mercy of luck.

I saw that as a failed check-swing, live and also in the replay. It's not just the wrists. The bat passed beyond the front of the plate. Too much shoulder movement to save it.

As good as Arraez is with the bat, when he plays second, I really miss Schoop's fielding. Dude is slick and pretty much makes all the plays that are hit to him.
