Cron batting 9th represents classic Good News / Better News:

  1. We must have a lot of good hitters, to have our 1B go last
  2. Pretty obvious where to apply some acquisition effort during the offseason

What are peoples thoughts on, Rosario to DL when Buxton gets back

This offseason, I could honestly see Rosario getting traded for some pitching help, and have Cave/Buxton/Kepler outfield, with Rooker/Kirilloff/Larnach/Raley fighting for corner OF/1B time. I love Eddie, but his lack of OBP ability really hurts him

Marwin is usually graded among the top 1B in the league defensively, so they should try to get him more starts there now that Cave is playing better in RF.

I would like to see Gonzalez at first - especially when Buxton gets back. Adrianza and Sano make me nervous playing there as well.

It looks like my arguing for keeping Cave around the past two weeks has been worth it. I'd much rather have this guy on the roster over Billy Hamilton - Cave is getting back to the guy he was last year, he just had a rough stretch to start the year, just like Marwin Gonzalez.

 

At this point, we need to figure out who's hot right now and pencil them into the lineup... as long as they won't kill us defensively.

It looks like my arguing for keeping Cave around the past two weeks has been worth it. I'd much rather have this guy on the roster over Billy Hamilton - Cave is getting back to the guy he was last year, he just had a rough stretch to start the year, just like Marwin Gonzalez.

Most people like myself wanted Hamilton for September and the postseason as a situation guy not a guy in the starting lineup.  Cave would have been down for a maximum of 10 days if they couldn't find anyone else to send down and they had to roster Hamilton for the rest of August.  Cave would have been back on the roster Sept 1.  If Buxton and Eddie are healthy, Cave wouldn't be in the lineup anyways.

 

I will give it to Cave he has been on fire the last week or so.
