Game Thread: Twins vs. Atlanta 5:10 pm PST (7:10 PM CDT) 8/5/2019

[operation mindcrime]

DFA Jake Cave!!!!!!

[Krabby5]

Seriously. I don’t understand how Cave is in the majors. He’s awful. He brings absolutely nothing to the plate, so when he makes terrible plays in the field, it’s infuriating

[Aggies7]

Not sure about that error on cave

[PDX Twin]

Couple of bad fielding plays by the Twins, and it's a 1-run lead. Yikes.

Three, really. Don't forget the PB against Castro.

[MVP Nick Punto]

I've gotta get through 10+ pages of comments, but DANG can the Twins play baseball! I would've never thought Of got through 6 after the 1st, much less the second, and through 3 innings it looked like we had /nothing/ to give ATL at the plate. But Cruz led us with a single, as he always does, and the rest of the guys decided they remembered how to hit, eh?

[Jham]

Jake Cave tries too hard. Just play your game.

[LVTwinsfan]

It doesn’t matter what the starters do, the real question is can the bullpen hold

[ashbury]

Cave rhymes with bad decision making.

[bighat]

Harper vs. Freeman and Donaldson....yikes!

[Riverbrian]

This umps consistently misses his ball and strike calls. So at least he's consistent.

[Aggies7]

That ball did take a strange hop on cave

[twinsnorth49]

Cave's bat better start going if he's going to continue to play defense like that.

[jz7233]

Ugh. Cave and Castro giving this game away.

I am not interested in seeing Cave in Twins uniform.

[GCTF]

Cave rhymes with bad decision making.

Pitched ball >> Jake Cave

Batted ball >> Jake Cave

[jimbo92107]

It figures, only Jim Kaat would notice the grip Ryne Harper is using to throw his great curve. Best announcer in baseball, bar none.

For the win!!!!!

[ashbury]

Nothing wrong with Chicken Fingers.

Something seriously, seriously wrong with those.

[HawksNest]

Jake Cave is just so bad.

Consistently screwing up.

[bighat]

Just put Donaldson on. Give 'em a free pass.

[Mill1634]

Surprised we are going to Duffey here and not Littell

It would've been nice too see Jaylin Davis in our uniform!

[Krabby5]

Jake Cave tries too hard. Just play your game.

He’s not a major league player. Doesn’t pass the eye test or stat test

[HawksNest]

Not sure about Duffey pitching to Donaldson here....

[nicksaviking]

Duffey feels like the wrong move here.

But to be fair ANY move feels like the wrong move here.

[PDX Twin]

Surprised we are going to Duffey here and not Littell

Can't use a littell reliever in a big situation?

[Blake]

I'm actually to the point I'm okay with Duffey coming into a high leverage situation.

Edit: Gee, Duffey, you could at least let me hit "post" before giving up the game tying hit!

[Aggies7]

How you gonna throw a hanger right there?

[Mill1634]

I see Trevor May has been teaching Tyler Duffey his curveball???

[Aggies7]

Aged like bread

[bighat]

Oh man Donaldson vs. Duffey back when he was with the Blue Jays, I think we all remember that.

And there goes the lead. Unreal. Donaldson should have been put on 1st base, walked!
