HawksNest Verified Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 And once again, the bullpen blows it!!
TwinsCD Verified Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Oh, Rocco....did you not read the stat line of Duffey vs. Donaldson? That's why you walk him for one and two, YOU STILL CAN'T MANAGE A DAMN BULLPEN!!!! Again, should have left Odorizzi in but let the stat geeks have their way.
Krabby5 Verified Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Why isn’t Dyson in ther...oh wait
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 How you gonna throw a hanger right there?Me? That one still had more break than mine would have.

HawksNest Verified Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Should have walked Donaldson and let Harper pitch to McCann (the lefty). Harper has been nails vs. lefties all year
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Again, if you’re going to have a sucky bullpen (which we do especially without Rogers and romo), starter needs to go as long as possible. 6 is great I guess for 2019, but he cat throw 187 pitches in 6 innings
IndyTwinsFan Verified Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 I'm actually to the point I'm okay with Duffy coming into a high leverage situation. Edit: Gee, Duffy, you could at least let me hit "post" before giving up the game tying hit!Well, that was a miserable failure. AARGH!

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 3-3 in the 7th inning. Good Game... Two Good Teams. Money's worth.

The 9-1-2 hitters were coming up and he had owned them. If he said he had nothing left, fine, pull him. But I'm guessing based on this day and age, that discussion was likely not had.

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 This ump can't see the square box.

Darius Verified Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Should have walked Donaldson and let Harper pitch to McCann (the lefty). Harper has been nails vs. lefties all yearWhy would you do that when you can make a move to the bullpen to set up the worst match-up possible? That really is an inexcusably bad decision.
operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Should have walked Donaldson and let Harper pitch to McCann (the lefty). Harper has been nails vs. lefties all yearApparently we don't have that data!
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 He’s not a major league player. Doesn’t pass the eye test or stat testHe passed the eye and stat test last year in 309 PAs compared to this year's 105 PAs. He does have a tendency to make some bone-headed plays in the outfield, I'll give you that. Or how about this? 2019 Marwin Gonzalez first 110 PAs of the year: .200/.277 (.553 OPS)2019 Jake Cave first 103 PAs: .198/.320 (.623 OPS)
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 How embarrassing!!!!!!The bullpen or the board’s reaction every time the other team scores a run?
TwinsCD Verified Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 At least the Braves bullpen is about as questionable as ours is. I mean, they traded for Shane Greene...voluntarily!!
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 For anyone interested: Odorizzi # of times pitched into (got at least an out) in the 7th inning: 2018: 3 times / 32 starts2019: 2 times / 22 starts # of times pitched into the 8th inning: 2018: 1 time, got 1 out2019: None

stringer bell Verified Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Well, the "goats" will have their opportunities in the bottom of the seventh. I guess I really shouldn't use the term "goat" when the score is tied. Also, Atlanta's BP has been pretty leaky.

TwinsCD Verified Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Didn't wanna bat someone for Cave here and move Marwin to right?
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 3-3 in the 7th inning. Good Game... Two Good Teams. Money's worth. Thanks for clarifying, reading the game thread I thought we just got walked off at home.
SwainZag Community Moderator Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 In all reality the bullpen gave up 2 singles and the Braves get 2 runs across. Should have been 2 errors and a passed ball. That cannot happen. It doesn't excuse Duffey for hanging the first pitch he threw to Donaldson, but damn help your pitchers out guys.
Marek Houston Wichita Wind Surge - AA SS On Saturday, Houston went 3-for-5 and scored two runs. After a short slump, he is now back over .290 on the season. Explore Marek Houston News >
