Otto von Ballpark Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Sure, anything can happen but Cleveland is 15-21 against teams over .500 this season. That's, uh... *quick math* Not awesome. In fairness, how many of those games were when they were trotting out Hanley Ramirez and Carlos Gonzalez, or when Jose Ramirez forgot how to hit for awhile, etc.? No doubt it will be more of a challenge, though, especially if they don't upgrade via trade.
ashbury Verified Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Nice hit by Schoop to continue this epic rally!
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 It is still a ballgame. People give up too quick. People pay to see maximum effort from pros. It is ripping the fans off to throw in the towel, and especially in the 4th!
Danchat Verified Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Somehow, Gibson's start yesterday appears to be the best starting pitcher performance either team got in this series.

cmoss84 Verified Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Like I said, we still have a chance if we chase Happ early. Chased. Not ova yet!
ashbury Verified Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Mitch is going to continue the magic.

Halsey Hall Verified Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Dick needs to quit whining about last night... Seriously, we get it. It's not a great look to cry about a single missed strike in the previous game while Yankee hitters currently continue to destroy Twins pitching.I hear ya. I had to go into another room, I'm so sick of listening to him. I'll miss Roy telling all about how hard Sano has been working on his swing for the 100th time though.
Bandit34 Provisional Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 If you want my opinion, this series has been very bad for baseball. It's like a video game. Sure, I will repeat what I said last night, I am proud of our Twins for competing with them, but that doesn't mean this series is good for baseball. This 11-10, 14-12 garbage IS BAD FOR BASEBALL.

Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Hey, everybody, a reminder. SOMEHOW, IT'S STILL THE FOURTH INNING
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 "Kyle Gibson gave up 5ER in 5IP and that's the best start in this series for either team."LOL Like I kept saying today, people were bashing Gibson and he's the only guy that has come within a country mile of not being terrible. If Baldelli had a bullpen, I doubt he even throws to Gregorius. Somehow, Gibson's start yesterday appears to be the best starting pitcher performance either team got in this series. Funny..... Gibson's start looks like the best of the series!
bighat Verified Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Odorizzi's season ERA for the season is now closing in on 4. Nice to see the Twins chip away a bit.
Bandit34 Provisional Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 I hate this series with a passion. It is unprofessional and ridiculous. Still, if the Twins can find a way to take 2 out of 3 in all of this mess, I would still be happy.
Otto von Ballpark Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Somehow, Gibson's start yesterday appears to be the best starting pitcher performance either team got in this series.Actually, I'd vote for one of the starters who didn't pitch. How does that Rush song go? "If you choose not to pitch, you still have made a choice"?
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Let's tie it up and send Odorizzi back out there!!
KirbyDome89 Verified Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Any other year I'm turning the broadcast off when NY goes up 9-3....the Twins offense certainly refuses to roll over Fun to watch...

MVP Nick Punto Verified Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Jake cave still owes us a couple RBI this game.
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Ah, perhaps shouldn’t have just packed it in last inning, RocI would add that leaving Odorizzi in isn’t necesarily “packing it in”. Which of Smeltzer, Torres or May do you REALLY believe is better?
wavedog Verified Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 I think our plan is to wear their hitters out - then we make a comeback.

Blake Verified Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Welp, watched Odorizzi give up his first runs, and, fortunately, mom called, because her new chair arrived. Decisions, decisions: Set up chair for mom, watch the Twins get pounded. Hmmm Though, I note the Twins are making a comeback. Just tossing this out there: how about just leaving a pitcher in, sink or swim? Can't keep abusing the bullpen, and the shuttle plane from Rochester is probably due for some maintenance, after all the flight hours it has logged. Save the plane and the bullpen! Free a starting pitcher!

Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Cmon Alla-Smeltzer, settle down my tummy
Bandit34 Provisional Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Seriously, can we stop this stupid video game nonsense please!? We're setting baseball back to the 19th Century with this garbage! You're professional pitchers. Start pitching.
