HawksNest Verified Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Any trades made in the next 10 days (I'm becoming more convinced that we won't make any move) need to be 100% controllable pieces. No rentals. No pushing the chips in for this season. It is abundantly clear that this team is going nowhere. Build for the future.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Castro and May. Quite a battery. One that takes a win and creates a loss.
MMMordabito Verified Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Make May the sacrificial lamb ... DFA him after the game and say, "Turn it around. You never know who's next."
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Very confused at why May has been left out there to rot.you prefer Stewart? The blame is on the front office.
jud6312 Verified Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Anyone hosting a May jersey burning after the game? They'd probably just explode.
MNT1996 Verified Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Trades won't make this team a playoff team. The only thing that will right now is a change of attitude. They seem scared. They won't be able to trade for 7 bullpen arms.
notoriousgod71 Verified Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Maybe they are stretching may out to be a starter....
Tom Froemming Twins Daily Contributor Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 you prefer Stewart? The blame is on the front office.I was surprised they didn't make a move to get a fresh arm up for today, but yeah I would prefer a fresh Stewart over a 30+ pitch May if those are the options.
mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Matt Mcgill sold to seattle = funny, Hope Berrios sees it
tvagle Verified Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Sabermetric guys did the math...then provided this insight #65 is due to pitch better, and 65 is our favorite number on 7/21/19 (from the Farmers Almanac)
MMMordabito Verified Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Fans should start booking the team against the Yankees tomorrow as soon as they take the field.
FLTwinsGuy Verified Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Maybe they are stretching may out to be a starter....
HawksNest Verified Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Vikings training camp starts this week!
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 At least May probably won't be available until Wednesday. Then again, that means using Duffey, Littell, and whoever they might bring up from Rochester. But at least they got some cash for Magill and Morin.
jud6312 Verified Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 you prefer Stewart? The blame is on the front office.Agree on the FO part, but at this point, yeah, I'd rather see Stewart out there than May.
Tom Froemming Twins Daily Contributor Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 And Littell coming out for the third-straight day is a head scratcher. This guy's still not even all that accustomed to relief work. If Kohl is on the roster, why not use him?
MNT1996 Verified Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Sabermetrics won't help you with the intangibles, Rocco. Need to be a leader in the locker room for these guys. A team talk is necessary.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 I’m out.You just got here.
IndyTwinsFan Verified Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Someone needs to wake this team from their long deep slumber. I'm not not convinced they could beat their Rochester, as hard as that that is to believe or even comprehend.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Amazing. Castro stopped a ball in the dirt.
FLTwinsGuy Verified Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Yankees put up 30+ in this series??

Davis would tear this pitching staff apart the way he's been swinging down there.
mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Time for this team to Show some heart,, Beyond Silly what were watching!!!
IndyTwinsFan Verified Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Yankees put up 30+ in this series??I'll take the over on that.
Tom Froemming Twins Daily Contributor Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 No idea if this is the case, it's probably not, but the bullpen usage in this game feels like the kind of thing a manager would do if he's frustrated when the cards he's been dealt. Rocco clearly wants nothing to do with Stewart, can't really defend that in a vacuum, but when you have a seven-man bullpen everybody needs to work. You can't hide a guy.
notoriousgod71 Verified Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Anyone hosting a May jersey burning after the game? No one owns a May jersey.
MNT1996 Verified Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 It's gotta be a hopeless feeling for some of these batters knowing that no matter how many runs they score here there is always the threat of the other team making them have to score even more to win.
FLTwinsGuy Verified Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Pretty crazy to think the Indians may be in 1st place by Wednesday
